Laura first discovered her love for theatre at the very young age of 5 when her parents enrolled her in dance classes. At the age of 17 Laura completed a year of full time study at Ikin Dance Australia, which allowed her to begin working professionally as a dancer. She then moved to New York City where she continued her dance studies at Broadway Dance Center, working with the best in the industry and soaking up as much of the Big Apple as possible. Since then Laura has performed in several musicals around the Gold Coast, with some performance credits include Saturday Night Fever, Legally Blonde, High School Musical, Downtown and All Shook Up at Spotlight Theatre, Footloose at Javeenbah Theatre and The Pajama Game at GCLT. Production team credits include Saturday Night Fever, Bonnie & Clyde, The Boy from Oz and High Schol Musical. While Laura has had plenty of experience

choreographing, this is her first time as an assistant director and she is very grateful to Brady for the opportunity. Laura would like to thank the wonderful cast for being such a joy to work with and of course her very talented partner Clay English for the magic he brings to any and every role.

Ethan Liboiron has returned to GCLT for another end-of-year musical, this time as Seymour Krelbourne. After enjoying the highly-acclaimed season of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, where he was honoured to receive GCATA award for Best Actor in a Community Theatre production for his performance of J. Pierrepont Finch, Ethan is delighted to return to a leading role, and hopes to bring his high-energy performance into the role of Seymour. Ethan has continued honing his craft at Dreamworld, where he has worked in the Entertainment department for the last decade. Ethan has been lucky enough to sing, dance and act as a job since high school, and he hopes to bring this experience to the stage for this show. Little Shop of Horrors has always held a special place in Ethan’s heart, and to be performing the same role as Rick Moranis had previously is an incredible honour.

Harmony is a 21-year- old performer from Melbourne who has grown up on the Gold Coast theatre scene. She was most recently seen in Spotlight Theatre’s production of Saturday Night Fever as Club Singer where she re-discovered her love for tight pants, sequin dresses and The Bee Gee’s. She is a Dreamworld singer/entertainer by day and a creative arts teacher by night, though her heart lies with musical theatre. She has now been featured in over 15 musical theatre productions including GCLT’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Spotlight Theatre’s Bonnie & Clyde, Catherine in Pippin, Miss Dorothy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ms. Tenney in High School Musical, Miss Sandra in All Shook Up, Grease, Aladdin Jnr., Sweeney Todd and three Gold Coast Arts Centre productions including Miss. Saigon, Jesus Christ Superstar and Beauty & the Beast. She is excited to be playing a character as beautifully complex

as Audrey in Gold Coast Little Theatre’s Little Shop of Horrors and hopes you enjoy the show. She would also like to thank her talented cast and creative team, especially Brady, Laura and Ben for their amazing guidance throughout the production.

During the day Johnathon is an elite Primary School Teacher at one of the most prestigious schools on the coast. At night he turns into a singing and dancing devil of the theatre world! He has been in many musicals including Les Miserables, Grease, Footloose, Leader of the Pack, West Side Story, Bonnie & Clyde and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying where he played the pivotal role of Mr. Gatch. Johnathon’s most memorable role however was where he played the lustful disco-dancing womanizer Double J in Spotlight Theatre’s Saturday Night Fever. Johnathon would like to thank the production team for taking a chance on an unknown kid.

Chris hasn’t taken to the stage since his senior years in high school where he played a ticked off priest in Jesus Christ Superstar, a loaf of bread stealing fugitive in Les Miserables and a hoodlum in West Side Story. It is with great pleasure that Chris plays the role of puppet master in Little Shop of Horrors, as it represents the perfect opportunity for him to get back to his roots in the theatre. What’s more, Chris and his role have grown considerably over the period of this show so he would like to thank Brady, Laura and the creative team. Chris would also like to thank his beautiful and supportive wife for suggesting this role, planting the seed and helping it to flourish.

PUPPETMASTER - Chris Dennis

Gold Coast Little Theatre would like to thank and acknowledge The North Queensland Opera & Music Theatre (NQOMT)

for the supply/hire of Audrey II Puppets Puppet Realisation, Development & Creation - Chris Ahern & Damien Jackson

A labour of love that took them the best part of a year - the range of AUDREY II puppets that you see on-stage in this production were originally conceived and created for the NQOMT production by Chris Ahern and Damien Jackson. Designed, built and decorated by hand, each puppet from the smallest to the largest, was designed to be operated by a single technician - the 2 largest requiring significant physical strength as well as puppeteering prowess! We are proud to be allowed to use them in our production - thanks to Chris, Damien and NQOMT!

ABOUT THE SHOW

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and intent towards global domination!

One of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows, Little Shop Of Horrors is a charmingly tongue-in-cheek comedy produced worldwide to incredible success.

It’s possible you’ve never heard of Ashman and Menken - the two teamed up in 1982 to create Little Shop of Horrors. Ashman directed the play, then went on to write the screenplay for the cult favorite film version. Disney found them, and they worked together on The Little Mermaid,

Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Sadly, Ashman died of AIDS at the age of 41, before Aladdin was completed. Menken has continued to write for Disney, and has done fine work, but the lyrical spark provided by Ashman has never been equaled.
