The Diploma in LTE & Advanced Communications is
6 months long and comprises four core modules and
eight specialist modules (of which you choose to
study two).
Each module is made up of written material, coursework
(questions, worked examples and research), regularassessments (in the form of multiple choice questions),
and tutor support. Written material provided will be
nominally between 160-200 A4 pages, and (with
exercises, worked examples, and self tests), require
20 hours work per module/month.
Pre-RequisitesThree years relevant experience within the
telecommunications industry or a relevant degree in
a telecommunications related topic.
Assessment and ExaminationsAward of the Diploma will be on successful completion
of a multiple choice final examination. The final
examination will be set for one month after nominal
completion of the final module. This examination will
be conducted through a web interface and will require
validation from your invigilator (training manager or
responsible person). Full details can be supplied on
request. You will also be asked to complete self
assessment questions throughout the course in order
to monitor your progress.
Course DatesThis Diploma course starts on 24 February 2010 with the
first module. We will then mail modules at regular
intervals allowing you to set your own pace.
Course MaterialsMaterial will be made available in hard copy at
appropriate intervals. You will be expected to complete
one module per month, over a total period of six
months. Course material will also be made available via
our Managed Learning System.
Course TutorsThe Course Tutors are available during your studies tohelp with any problems or technical questions that you
may have. Each programme will also be assigned a
Course Director. Further details on how to make contact
will be supplied in the course handbook which you will
receive once you are enrolled on the course.
