It is also known as Thera. It is the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of ap-proximately 73 square km with an estimated population of 13,600. Santorini is essentially the remains of an enormous volcanic explo-sion which destroyed the settlements thereon and led to the creation of the current geological caldera, notoriously known for Its spectacular natural beauty along with its eminent nightlife.
