Adobe Photoshop

During our Photoshop tutorial we were

taught how to add textures to images,

and how to use Photoshop for

designing processes, such as costumes. Or to use it for creating

mood boards and photomontages

• This image was created by adding pieces from other images, by resizing, cropping and making to fit.

• This could be used as a starting point for costume designing or for researching colours and textures.

3D Max

• The 3D Max studios session taught us how to create the 3D objects we might need to use when designing the set for a stage

• Once we had built a set, we added textures and colours to it, then lighting and also how to use the camera.

• This was useful as we could see the set from many angles and helps create an image of how the real thing may look, instead of having to use paper/ card models.

This was the stage

that I created using 3D max, for the set of

‘A Midsumme

r Nights Dream’

AutoCADAutoCAD can be

used to create technical drawings and 2D designs.

This would be useful to same time on drawing out and showing measurements of drawings of designs.

Evaluation

• I found this 7 week project very useful as I have not used some of these programmes before. I have previous experience with using Photoshop, but have learned new skills using this programme and have considered using this for future design projects and to help me with presenting my designs and ideas.

• I have struggled with programmes like AutoCAD and 3Dmax as I have never used these programmes before, and as they are quite advanced, they were difficult to get used to.

• However I feel like I have learned enough to use these programmes again and my confidence has gained with using computers for design.
