What is Digital?The digit is the pixel.

• Every picture is made of a finite number of pixels.• Each pixel is like a bucket of color.• More buckets of color means the more detail.• Your monitor has 72 pixels per inch.

• You cannot add information (pixels) to the original picture.• Increasing size only pulls apart the original pixels.

Resolution.Pixels are finite.

More Resolution.PPI = pixels per inchDPI = dots per inch

• Printers use dots instead of pixels. • These dots are CMYK.• Common print resolutions are 150 dpi and 300 dpi.
