Digital Media Doctor Reports
When you finish
testing with DigitalMedia Doctor, you
can view, print, or
save the report data
from the tests by
clicking on Report in
the tool bar.
The report will give
information on bad
sectors, read and
write speed, as well
as the data transferrate and speed rating
of your media.
In the report, you will
be shown the
specifications on the
media, such as
capacity and
available space,
volume label (where
applicable), and the
error status of the
test being run. If a
test is cancelled,
then the test willshow as cancelled by
the user. You can
print or save the
report for later use
by clicking the print
or save button.
Clearing the report
will also clear the

were used to create
the report.
You will also see the
average IO speed on
the card, and how
that relates to the X-
factor or Speed
Rating on the media.
See the chart belowfor more information.
What is the X for?
How fast is my
media?
The rated speed
naming convention
refers to themaximum data
transfer rate for that
device. This rating is
similar to the rated
speeds for CD-ROM
drives. The rating for
the original CD-ROM
speed was based on
the transfer rate of
an audio CD, i.e.
150KB/sec. A single-
speed (1x) CD drivehad a maximum data
transfer rate of
150KB/sec.
The larger the X-
factor, the faster the
maximum transfer
speed of the device.
A "2X" device would
have a maximum
transfer speed of
300KB/sec. Thistable shows the
approximate KBS
speed and the
associated X-factor
With Flash Storage
devices, the read
speed usually will
exceed the write
speed.
