Digital Logic Design Tools The commercial CAD tool used for CMPEN 271/471 is ISE WebPACK 9.2i. The tool is available free from Xilinx. One may download the tool from the following web page: http://www.xilinx.com/webpack/classics/wpclassic/index.htm Follow the red arrow on the images below.

Drag down the scroll bar on the right.

You are your own corporation. I used my own email address as 'User ID' and 'Corporate Email'. I used my address, and my name as my 'Company' and my 'Department'.

Download file will be in 'My Documents'

Wait to finish downloading.

Wait for the download to complete. This may take a while. You may want to do this at the computer with high-speed internet connection, such as on-campus computer lab. You may want to put the downloaded file on USB flash memory or DVD disk. Once the file is downloaded, unzip the file and install the WebPACK program. One may need 10GB of hard drive space to complete unzip and installation.

Downloaded zip file is placed in a folder. Right click on the file and select “Extract All … “ option.

Click and wait for file extraction.

Once the file is extracted (unzipped), install the WebPACK_92i by double clicking the WebPACK_SFD_92i folder.

Do NOT double click the “setup.exe” file in this folder. Read and follow the following 'Announcement'. ----------------------------------------------------------

Xilinx ISE 9.2i Webpack installation on Window7 64-bit PC:

I have found how to get the Xilinx ISE webpack to install

on Windows 7 64-bit. First, download the webpack from Xilinx.

I chose to save it instead of open it, since I am putting it

on more than one computer. Second, extract the files.

After you extract the files, don't use the setup.exe file

in the main directory.

Instead navigate to: WebPACK_SFD_92i\bin\nt\setup.exe

Note that there is also a "_setup.exe" file in the same folder,

don't use it. Use "setup.exe". I have gotten successfully

installed it.

Then, follow the Xilinx installation screens.

Select the following installation options!!! (This is important!)

Uncheck the 'WebUpdate' (we are using old program).

Then wait for the installation.

Now the WebPACK installation is done. Now, start the ISE WebPACK. You may double click on the icons on your desktop or use Windows Start menu (and run ISE Project Navigator).

Once the ISE program is up and running, you are ready to use ISE WebPACK tool. You may start the digital design for the Homework 5.
