DIARY FROM CYPRUS

FRIDAY, 27TH SEPTEMBER

We arrived from the airport in Paphos to OELMEK hotel and stayed there for one night. I was very tired so I went to sleep. We will go swimming in the hotel pool tommorow.

SATURDAY, 28TH SEPTEMBER

We got up earlier than others to swim in a pool in the hotel. We visited Archeological Park in Paphos, beautiful harbor, Tombs of the Kings, ancient theater of Kounan and the Rock of Aphrodite. After the tour we ate in Pizza Hut and went to our exchange friends’ houses. The pizza was delicious.

SUNDAY, 29TH SEPTEMBER

We got up early, ate cereal for breakfast and went to the beach in the city which name I can’t remember. We spent a great time there and went home at 8 o’clock! When we arrived home I was tired so I decided to go to sleep.

MONDAY, 30TH SEPTEMBER

We had traditional Cypriot breakfast in their school. We attended the Cyprus Independence Day. We had Comenius activities at the school, too. In the afternoon we visited the old city of Nicosia, Venician Walls, Ledra Street and the „Green Line” border. My friend told me that it is the fake border .

TUESDAY, 1ST OCTOBER

We visited Avia Napa Monastery and Thelassa Museum. We were also at he beach and it was a nice place to play in water. We played a game in which I was throwing my glasses into the water and then someone dived for them. It was funny.

WEDNESDAY, 2ND OCTOBER

We had Comenius presentation and ceremony in the school. The Polish presentation was presented by Maja Gewald and Natalia Baczewska. We also presented activities from the project and we planned future activities. The presentation was nice.

THURSDAY, 3RD OCTOBER

We had workshops at school. We were divided into international Polish-Cypriot groups. We cooperated in the groups to create materials for the project. I was in group of 5 with Julia and our partners. We worked out a trilingual mini-dictionary of parapsychology terms. We learnt „the Dance of Ghosts”. We created materials of Cyprus legends and myths. There was exhibition of photos called „the Mysterious Cyprus”. We designed the superhero - PolCyprus and we created a comic book with his adventures in Cyprus. This is the first part. We created presentations and films etc. about our favourite films connected with the topic of fantasy. We met at the swimming pool and watched films.

FRIDAY, 4TH OCTOBER

We got up early to visit the beautiful Archbishop’s Palace, Cyprus Folk Art. Museum, the Museum of National Struggle, the house of Hadjiyiorkatsis Kornesios, Leventis Museum and Ledra Street. It was a long day.

SATURDAY, 5TH OCTOBER

We were in the Trodos Mountains which looked amazingly beautiful. We visited Kalopanayiotis Village, St. John Monastery and Kykkos Monastery there. We were divided into two groups – the Mystery Hunters and the Guards of Mystery. I was the Guard of Mystery. We gave hints for the Mystery Hunters and they followed our directions. It was very funny.

SUNDAY, 6TH OCTOBER

We were in the Mall of Cyprus with other students from Cyprus and Poland. In the evening we had goodbye evening at a traditional Cypriot tavern. Everyone was crying but some of the students were happy of going home
