Diamut's OPL range is the result of ex-tensive technical research, offering

HYS range

Fruit of Diamut's in-depth research andexpertise, the grinding wheels in the

HYS range are characterized by specialbinders and a cooling system designedespecially for processing operationsat speeds twice those achievable withwheels from the OPL line.

Over 200 of the most widely available proles in the

Diamut catalogue, with the option to creating new oneson request.These are the gures in the Diamut range of prolegrinding wheels, available in a whole host of versionsstarting with a 20mm diameter, across two differentproduct lines; the OPL and the HYS lines.

Both product lines include diamond and polishingwheels, for use on granite, marble and synthetic

The Diamut recess drain kit is available in aspecial version for granite as well as in a uni-versal version. The universal version can beused on both granite and synthetic agglom-erates.

The sequence of 12 tools guarantees superb

marble and granite, with cutting edgesdesigned expressly for these materials.For marble, the cutting edge is forgedfrom Widia hardened metal, whilst forgranite it is made from polycrystallinegranite. Angles available vary from 60 to105 degrees.

Tools for bas-relief

The Diamut bas-relief tools are specif-

Edge polishing

The new set of polishing wheels for edgepolishing machines is available in the 130and 150 diameter versions, covers a widerange of grains (from 30 to 3500), andcan be used on both straight and toroidaledges. A universal polishing wheel that'ssuitable for all types of processing needsis also available. A special geometry hasbeen designed for each size and process-ing operation; What's more, the "eccen-tric" version is even available for the 150diameter models in order to minimisethe marks generated by the processingoperations. The structure of the grinding

The widespread implementation of the Kaizen method across all Biesse Group com-panies has resulted in the application of quality controls to individual products and pro-duction phases, with a view fostering a philosophy of continuous improvement.

Fault analysis allows us to anticipate potential defects on catalogue tools and thosethat are custom-made on request for customers. Extensive prior analysis is also com-plemented by quality controls which are carried out on the tools, and include grindingwheel closure, diamond distribution, hardness and size.

Where defects are noted, the tool identication plate can be used to trace it backthrough each individual stage of the manufacturing process, accounting for about 70%of total information regarding the tool. In parallel, an internal non-compliance report iscreated, in order to allow us to undertake all necessary corrective actions immediately.

In 2014 Diamut revealed internal and external non-compliance levels of 0.06%. If weconsider only episodes of non-compliance identied by the customers, this drops fur-ther to 0.01% of total production.

Diamut selects only the best suppliers of diamond particles and metal powder.Through rigorous certication and careful quality control, the best raw materials arethen used to manufacture tools.Result: Superior quality throughout the entire production process.

The temperature and pressure in the sintering process are closely controlled to guar-antee constant repeatability of the product.

Electro-erosion

Diamond dressing

Each tool is subjected to a diamond dressing process which, using special technology,makes the tool immediately effective from the very rst metres of processing. Result:The tool guarantees excellent standards in processing operations from the very rstuse.

Grinding wheel balancing

Before they are delivered every grinding wheel undergoes balance checks. The bal-ance quality grade required is G=6, which is usually used for high rotation parts andis much higher than the rotation speed required of grinding wheels in the various pro-cessing operations. Result: any potential imbalance of tools is eliminated, regardlessof the programme in use

Marking individual tools

Each tool produced by Diamut is marked with a serial number so that each productcan be traced even years later, allowing customers to establish the exact order date

and obtain information on each stage of processing. Result: total traceability of eachindividual tool and rapid response times when assistance services are required
