Deep Well Dewatering Ann Arbor, MI Overview We installed a deep well dewatering system approximately 25 vercal feet below ground surface for the installaon of the 60” sanitary sewer on the Fuller Road Phase I Interceptor Relocaon project in Ann Arbor (MI). Methodology Based upon our review of the plans and specificaons provided, we installed a deep well dewatering system consisng of 12 deep wells and a single generator unit. We also provided a bypass pumping system capable of delivering flows up to 40cfs to temporarily bypass the exisng 60” sanitary sewer for the connecons required on the project. The sucon point was the exisng manhole, and the discharge point was the exisng vault, located approximately 1,000’ away. Highlights Modificaons to the manhole were required to meet the engineer’s specificaons for flow requirements. The exisng grade around the manhole needed to be lowered to elevaon approximately 12’ to provide for a sucon liſt of 16 vercal feet to grade. This required the temporary removal of the exisng 12” storm sewer located North of the manhole. Modificaons to the downstream vault 5-4 were also required to provide sufficient access for the three 18” HDPE bypass lines. The system was completed with sucon piping and all discharge manifolds required to bypass around the connecon areas. OverviewWe installed a deep well dewatering system approximately 25 vertical feet below ground surface for the installation of the 60” sanitary sewer on the Fuller Road Phase I Interceptor Relocation project in Ann Arbor (MI).

MethodologyBased upon our review of the plans and specifications provided, we installed a deep well dewatering system consisting of 12 deep wells and a single generator unit. We also provided a bypass pumping system capable of delivering flows up to 40cfs to temporarily bypass the existing 60” sanitary sewer for the connections required on the project. The suction point was the existing manhole, and the discharge point was the existing vault, located approximately 1,000’ away.

HighlightsModifications to the manhole were required to meet the engineer’s specifications for flow requirements. The existing grade around the manhole needed to be lowered to elevation approximately 12’ to provide for a suction lift of 16 vertical feet to grade. This required the temporary removal of the existing 12” storm sewer located North of the manhole. Modifications to the downstream vault 5-4 were also required to provide sufficient access for the three 18” HDPE bypass lines. The system was completed with suction piping and all discharge manifolds required to bypass around the connection areas.
