DII In Action - Targus Dock180 POC

Lillie Swearingen delivered a Targus Dock180 to Lieder

Elementary for testing with the Yoga 370 tablets as an

alternative to the Lenovo OneLink dock. The goal is to

rid the computers of the USB Resources error that is

seen when the Lightspeed Sound Systems are plugged

into the docking station, as well as the issue with

teachers having to change the HDMI port for connection

to the Promethean Boards on a regular basis.

So far, testing has gone well with Targus Dock180. The

POC with this teacher will last one week before moving

to another location.

MBAM BitLocker Meeting

Larry Barrios, Jennifer Miller, John Crumbley, and Derly Buentello continue meeting and planning

delivery of BitLocker encryption on district laptops that store sensitive data. They established the

policy for types of devices and media that need data encrypted, when encryption must be used,

and the minimum requirements for hardware and software used for encryption. They also

started developing policy for sensitive data components that can be categorized as CFISD

Protected data, CFISD Sensitive data, CFISD Public data, and the actions needed to safely

secure this data. Additionally, using MBAM, John and Jennifer activated BitLocker encryption on

their district laptops. This serves to demonstrate the customer encryption experience and secure

the sensitive data on their laptops.
