Action and Time Line
Action Steps
1) Go through guide “A Beginners Guide to Securing Your Financial Future” at MyMilitary GPS FinancePlan>Your Budget>Setting Goals.
2) Evaluate current budget plan using the GPS LifePlan “Monthly Budget Worksheet” at MyMilitary GPS FinancePlan>Your Budget>Creating a Budget.

4) Set up savings account and authorize an automatic transfer to
savings each month starting with my next paycheck.
5) Review and revise my budget to make sure I am on track. Learn more at MyMilitary GPS FinancePlan>Your Budget>Revise and Revisiting Your Budget.
Time Line Within the next 2 weeks. Within the next 4 weeks. Within 1 week of evaluating current budget. Within 1 week after final budget plan is in place. Every 6 months after my first transfer.

Now, share your goal with at least one other person
Later, share your goal with those you listed in your support network
25
What was the goal-setting experience like for you?
In what other goal areas might you apply this method?
26
Change is a process and not a one-time event
It takes about 30 days to develop a habit – What can you do for at least 5 minutes each for the next 30 days towards this goal?
Set-backs can be expected. Establish small goals and gradually work towards bigger and harder to achieve goals.
Situate yourself – where have you been? Where are you? Where do you want to go?
