3. Elizabeth Studebaker Presentation:

She stressed that Process 1 permits will not require community review, but buy in from community organizations.
b. She showed examples of some successful placemaking projects. c. She reviewed the proposed code amendments (see attached presentation).
4. Explore North Park Magazine
a. Angela reported difficulties with the printing of the magazine, stating that the color was off. b. She noted what’s new in this edition: the magazine is smaller to be more transportable and
the distribution goal has switched to 50% in San Diego and 50% tourists. The magazine will be distributed throughout Orange County, Newport Beach, the Irvine Airport, and North County Coffee Houses.
c. She asked the committee to review the magazine and report back. d. Patric stated that the design of the new edition is less confusing than the first edition.
5. Signage
a. Sam and Shane Beard of Fast Signs were available to answer questions about a standardized a-frame sign for North Park Main Street business district members. Options were given and other types of promotional signs were presented. With a custom topper, the sign would cost $197 with graphics.
6. Announcements a. Angela presented different options for pole banners. It was decided to leave the current
banners up for another month. b. Angela asked for support from Board and committee members on projects, requesting they
take them on 100%. c. Lynn asked Elizabeth Studebaker about the North Park Mini-park. It was noted the meeting
about the park held by parks and recreation was not transparent, stakeholders were not notified, and there was not proper notification.
