Morning Message (by Bob Ulrich)

Boo-Hoo Bye

Page 3 Tingley Times Volume 19 Issue 3

THE rough schedule begins with ARRIVAL Friday afternoon. If anyone is camping, a Friday Fire for all of

us with marshmallows for roasting, loved ones for chatting, laughing, reminiscing, etc. Saturday morning, 10

a.m., meet at Cabin 1 (June and Wayne Siner’s and Betty Crowell’s cabin) to plan for Saturday.

Saturday night will be supper at LaCasita (BYOM). Sunday morning will be a final gathering before depar-

ture. Bob Ulrich will share the morning message.

The Schedule Decision

Up-and Coming Reunion by James Elton Turner Jr (husband of Florene Turner, daughter of Helen Mae Tingley Ulrich Goss, daughter of Edith Gertrude Gage Tingley and

Nelson Eugene Tingley)

JUST a few words on the up-and-coming reunion. I have attended the Tingley Reunion for many years,

and I can say that it is fun just to talk with family and spend quality time to find out what everyone is doing. I

hope and pray that all of you attend who can because we are important to each other. We (parents, sons,

daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins) need to keep together and spend time together, find-

ing out what is going on in the lives of each other, reminiscing, and getting to know the ones we don’t know

yet. Hopefully we can continue to do this every other year until Jesus comes.

We need to stay close to all our family members, and this is a great way to do that. I know we are

spread out, and that it might be hard to go, but we need everyone to be there. I do hope that all will attend.

I look forward to spending time with you all.

TRINA Stead, will you please, pretty please, take care of the photography again? You are

the best. The Tingleys have been blessed for years now with your photography at the reunions.

The hope is that you enjoy it because you are so good at it and it is such a blessing to all of the

Tingleys. Please, Trina?

Reunion Rumors

RUMOR has it that the Bob Crowell Family, Richard Crowell Family, Linda Kellar Family, Donna York

Family, Dorothy and Ron Stead, Ron and Trina Stead, Ronnie Stead II, Kautrina Stead, Debbie and Dave

Munson, Brian Coley, Tammy Plata Family, Jaden Turner, Jett Turner, Edie and Mike Rider, Darla Rider Fam-

ily, and Marilyn Ulrich will be attending!

Friday Fire

FRIDAY Fire is typically a campfire with marshmallow roasting (bring your

own marshmallows and roasting sticks). AND, it is wonderful! A couple things

are necessary to make this tradition happen.

(1) A campsite because there is no fire ring at Idyllwild Inn.

(2) No fire ban. Haven’t checked yet to see if there is a fire ban. There was

in 2008, but maybe the drought is past now. That will be checked.

If by chance, there is a fire ban, an alternative may be arranged, like Friday

Franks at one of the cabins. Each could bring frankfurters and hot dog rolls and

all get together at one of the cabins!

Saturday Breakfast

YOU’RE on your own. Eat when and where you desire. Eat with whom you desire. You

could make arrangements at Friday Fire!

Saturday Lunch

THIS is not a planned event yet. How about a Men’s Munch and a Ladies’ Lunch? If this is

interesting, the men could plan their Men’s Munch and the ladies could plan their Ladies’ Lunch! It might be at a restaurant. It might be potluck at one of the cabins. What else might it be?

How about Salad Share? Everyone brings their favorite salad to share!

Another option is to get together with one, two, or a few people, mixed or unmixed com-pany, for lunch. Another option is to eat alone.

Afternoon Activities

THE Afternoon Activities (Saturday afternoon) could be volleyball, water war, parlor games, table

games, and shopping, or all of them. The time will be determined at the meeting in Cabin 1 at 10 a.m. The

location for volleyball, water war, and table games is Idyllwild Inn. The location for shopping is Idyllwild! Ath-

letes, arrive ready to play volleyball or water war! Gamers, arrive ready to play parlor games and table

games. Why not both? There’s probably time. Does anyone have that fabulous parlor game called Taboo? If

yes, please take it and let Florene Turner know. Florene has the table game called Pig Mania and will take it.

(It’s an old game that is dear to her and so would need to be handled accordingly.)

Be sure to take your squirt guns if you intend to be in the water war. No balloon because of the clean-up

problem. How does this work? Do you need to take a bucket for squirt gun refills? The cabin interiors do

need to be kept dry. Water war is strictly an outdoor activity.

Gamers, bring your decks of cards and let’s play Peanuts! Each gamer needs a deck of cards for this fun

game. The backs of the cards need to be different for each person. Gamers, also bring your parlor games and

table games.

Shoppers, you may want to shop for a tee shirt and get it printed for Tingley Reunion souvenir.

All of this will be decided at the Saturday Morning Meeting.

Saturday Supper

SATURDAY Supper will be at LaCasita Mexican Restaurant. The address is 54650

North Circle Drive, Idyllwild 92549.

We will gather there at 6 p.m., Saturday, August 1. It will NOT be separate bills, so

keep track of your own cost. The tip is a required additional 15-20 percent.

Remember, after supper gather for the families photo shoot.

Sunday Breakfast

SUNDAY breakfast is on your own. Be back for the Morning Message and Boo-Hoo Bye.

Morning Message

BOB Ulrich will deliver the morning message!

Boo-Hoo Bye

TIME to say good-bye, check out, and depart. This is the ONLY sad time of the family re-

union.

Morning Message 2007 Reunion

April 15, 2009, was a historical day. It was Tax Day Tea Party Day. The rallies, totaling about 300,000 Ameri-

can patriots, rallied in protest to big government and big government spending. We were a part of this his-

tory-in-the-making to preserve the founding fathers’ plan for small government and individual’s rights.

THINGS TO DO: 1. Print and mail this newspaper to close relatives who do not have internet access.

2. Make reunion reservation.
