Executive Summary
Fall River is one of the oldest towns in the US and as such, has been operating andmaintaining a combined sewer system for over 100 years. Fall River was facing aregulatory enforcement action to limit and control sewage pollution of theirwaterways during rain events. Before deploying Ayyeka’s solution the city had relied on visual inspections to informthe mandatory reporting activity this involved site crews entering the sewer systemand utilizing such simple tools as wooden block 'tell tale' indicators.Each inspection required a confined space entry permit, and often a police escortcausing potential traffic obstruction. Deploying Ayyeka's solution in the collection system has led to a substantialreduction in the city's penalties, greater compliance with EPA regulations, improvedoperational efficiency and overall increased safety of the sewer team.

The city deployed the Ayyeka FAI™ platform and installed 16 of Ayyeka'sWavelets with hydrostatic level sensors in strategic locations across the city,mainly on the coastline where the outfalls overflow to the Bay.

From a field maintenance perspective, batteries have been replaced only once inthree years and Wavelet performance was excellent.
The Wavelet have picked upnumerous of CSOs throughoutthe year and alerted all teamsdealing with sewage andrainstorms. The average sewer overflow was1-2ft high and the average timeof the flow was 2-3 hours.In two locations, sewer overflowwas as high as 8ft. Compliance reporting wentfrom a significant and labor-intensive regular activity to asimple pre-configured reportperiodically sent directly to thelocal authority
