DEMOGRAPHICS AND PSYCHOGRAPHICS
DEMOGRAPHICS
Demographics are created by allocating people into
categories depending on their job status.
Demography involves the statistical study of human
populations. As a very general science, it can analyze any
kind of dynamic living population, i.e., one that changes over
time or space (see population dynamics). It encompasses the
study of the size, structure, and distribution of these
populations, and spatial and/or temporal changes in them in
response to time, birth, migration, aging, and death.
DEMOGRAPHIC SCALE – NRS
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
Advantages: the information is easily accessible ,
and there is easy categorisation which provide
simple and distinct groups.
Disadvantages: it classes the overlap, the jobs listed
are quite traditional meaning newer jobs are not as
easily categorised and its based on the occupation of
the head of the household .
PSYCHOGRAPHICS
This scale uses categories of personalities and puts
people into a sector depending on their lifestyle.
PSYCHOGRAPHICS
Advantages : There is more variety within the
groups and it creates individual groups.
Disadvantages : some people may have more than
one personality and therefore may overlap between
sections .
