The RESULTS National Webinar
December 2020
Welcome!
RESULTS Anti-Oppression Values
RESULTS is a movement of passionate, committed everyday people. Together
we use our voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty.
Poverty cannot end as long as oppression exists.
We commit to opposing all forms of oppression, including racism, classism, colonialism, white saviorism,
sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, and religious discrimination.
At RESULTS we pledge to create space for all voices, including those of us who are currently
experiencing poverty. We will address oppressive behavior in our interactions, families, communities, work,
and world. Our strength is rooted in our diversity of experiences, not in our assumptions.
With unearned privilege comes the responsibility to act so the burden to educate and
change doesn’t fall solely on those experiencing oppression. When we miss the mark on our values, we
will acknowledge our mistake, seek forgiveness, learn, and work together as a community to pursue
equity.
There are no saviors — only partners, advocates, and allies. We agree to help make the RESULTS
movement a respectful, inclusive space.

Census Household Pulse Survey9
COVID Deal?
• Congress passed CR until December 11
• Latest bipartisan proposal includes:
o $25 billion for emergency rental assistance (for first quarter of
2021)
o $26 billion in food and agriculture assistance (could allow for boost
in SNAP benefits by 15 percent)
o NO funding for global response
• Finalizing deal in next hours, or at most days
10
Key COVID “Asks”
• Global: $20 billion in the COVID response bill with priority for Gavi
(vaccines), the Global Fund, and nutrition assistance.
• Housing: the $25 billion for rental assistance should be targeted to
reach low-income households most at risk of eviction – and must be
combined with an extension of a national eviction moratorium to
ensure families stay stably housed over next few months
• U.S. Nutrition: support a 15 percent boost to SNAP (since the $26
billion "nutrition" line was vague in the bipartisan proposal released
earlier this week).
11
Take Action
Congress must act and ensure the COVID
relief bill prioritizes impoverished and
marginalized groups, at home and abroad.
https://results.org/volunteers/action-center/
12
2021 housing policy priorities
• Immediate need: $100 billion in emergency rental assistance
over 12 months plus strong eviction moratorium
• Then, must address underlying housing crisis, with bold
long-term solutions
o Dramatically scale up assistance for low-income renters
o May also work on increasing the supply of affordable housing
o Longer term/next strategic plan: homeownership
13
2021 U.S. policy priorities (cont’d)
• Immediate need: Boost SNAP at least 15 percent
o With additional funding/capacity, engage in targeted work on Child
Nutrition Reauthorization (e.g. school meals) and next Farm Bill (SNAP)
• Expand EITC and CTC
o Can build on bipartisan CTC expansion efforts
▪ Expanding the CTC cut could child poverty by at least one-third
o Expand EITC for younger workers/others who don’t claim dependents
o If Dems control Senate: large scale tax legislation via reconciliation
14
2021 Global policy priorities
• Responding to the global pandemic
• U.S. leadership for the Global Partnership for Education
o U.S. pledge of $1 billion over five years at July 2021 pledging
conference
• Increase support for underfunded priorities
o Nutrition
o Tuberculosis
