Courses
Functional Movement
Date: Mondays & Wednesdays November 30 & December 2, 7, & 9 Time: 10 - 11 AM Place: ISU, Student Recreation Center 601 N. 6th St. Terre Haute, IN Cost: $20 (In person only) Maximum: 10 This fun and integrated class combines functional movements with stability, mobility, and postural control to provide workouts that improve activities of daily living. This class focuses on many aspects such as sitting, lifting, reaching overhead, and more while also introducing different modalities including body weight movements and weights. Grab a friend or come as you are and take back control of your life. The ISU students will be gone so parking and social distancing will not be a problem at the
ISU Student Recreation Center.
What the Dickens is it About “A Christmas Carol” that Makes it So Popular?

Date: Mondays, December 7 & 14 Time: 1 - 3 PM Place: Zoom link will be sent to individuals registered Cost: $6 (Zoom only) Is watching one of the many versions of “A Christmas Carol” part of your holiday tradition? Have you ever read the original Charles Dickens version? Come join Michelle as she leads a discussion about the author, the time period and the original story. How has the story changed over time and what makes this story so popular that is has been adapted into over 135 versions?

Virtual Tours
A Tour of the Orchestra – The Percussion Family
Date: Tuesday, December 8 Time: 5:30-7 PM Place: Zoom link will be sent to those registered Cost: $3 (Zoom only) Join Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra Principal Percussion, Keegan Sheehy, for a tour of the symphonic percussion section. Mr. Sheehy will demonstrate mechanics and technique for several standard percussion instruments in the orchestra such as the snare drum, cymbals, tambourine, triangle, marimba, and more. Learn about a tambourine thumb roll, where the snares are located on a snare drum, and the many ways to play a triangle (yes, there are several!). In addition, he will perform a short list of famous orchestra excerpts followed by a marimba solo piece. The presentation will close with a short question and answer session.
Virtual Cooking with Butler’s Pantry With Kris Kraut, Chef and Owner of
Bulter’s Pantry
Date: Thursday, December 10 Time: 3 - 4 PM Place: Zoom link will be sent to those registered Cost: $30 (Zoom only) Kris will hold a live cooking lesson on Zoom, providing insights into how to make a simple dish taste like something you've had at the Red Barn. Our first of many virtual cooking presentation will feature Chicken and Brussel Sprout Egg Rolls with Sweet Chili Pomegranate Sauce. Even better you don’t have to go shopping for the ingredients! You will pick up your complete kit the day before the event at The Butler's Pantry. More information will be sent out to those registered! This meal kit is enough to feed two people (three eggrolls per person).
OLLI “Holiday” Happy Hour
Date: Wednesday, December 16 Time: 2 - 4 PM Place: Zoom link will be sent to those registered Cost: FREE but registration is required (Zoom only)
Let’s celebrate the Holidays together! This is the second “Holiday” Happy Hour OLLI will
host during the holiday season. Join OLLI Program Administrator, Michelle Bennett, to play a
round of “Name That Tune”. Join in the fun and let the outside world disappear for an hour
with good music and good friends!

Planning Ahead - Danube Explorer Trip 2022 with Mayflower Cruises and Tours With Amanda Coleman, Business Development Manager for Mayflower Cruises and Tours

Come learn about the trip with Amanda Coleman from Mayflower Cruises and Tours and see what all the Danube Explorer has to offer.

Coping with Loneliness With Janice Croft, LMHC
Date: Wednesday, December 9 (In person & Zoom) Time: 1:30 - 3 PM Place: ISU, TBA Cost: FREE but registration is required We are all, at times in our lives, subject to being alone. Whether this is due to a death of a loved one, one’s own illness, the threat of COVID, or to the natural tendency for our families to grow up and move away, we are all faced with the possibility of being alone. Being alone does not have to mean being lonely. This presentation will offer ways in which to combat and cope with these times and the emotions we have during them.
