Christmas at Linwood2020 has definitely been a year to remember and a year we will never forget! With a worldwide pandemic, civil unrest, economic turmoil and an election cycle like none we have ever seen, it will be nice to put this year behind us for sure! But even in the midst of uncertainty, we can still look to this time of year as a time to be grateful for all that we have and have been given. We can still find peace in the midst of the storm. We still have an opportunity to show and share God’s love with a hurting world. We each have inside of us the capability to reach outside ourselves and be a light in the darkness. I encourage each of you to use this season to evaluate your purpose. We all have one you know? We each have an opportunity to live and not just exist! And no matter what we face in the coming year, remember the name Emmanuel. (God is with us!)

Residents’ CornerPaula Aseltine, one of our newest residents at Linwood, came to us in September after fleeing hurricanes in North Carolina.Paula is a hoot to be around. She always make us laugh with her witty personality. Paula grew up in Broad Brook, Connecticut. She traveled back and forth between Connecticut and North Carolina. She attended University of Connecticut, receiving her Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts. Paula also served on the Connecticut Police Force four years as a police officer and 29 years as a dispatcher. She has two sons and three grandsons. Paula’s hobbies include crocheting, basket weaving, and playing the guitar. She has a wonderful, giving spirit and in fact used her talents just recently to help us raise money for breast cancer by donating some of her work to Linwood. Paula is always a willing participant and a joy to be around.
