Holiday Dinners!
Our annual Resident Holiday
Dinners are off to a wonderful
start. Thank you to all the family
members and friends who have
joined us in this annual
celebration.
Goodbye and Welcome!!
On November 30th we said
goodbye to our Manager of
Program Services Mary Bateman
who started her career with the
City of Windsor in 1983. Mary has
been a part of the Huron Lodge
team for 24 years!!
Congratulations to Mary on a
wonderful career and all the best
in enjoying your retirement.
Welcome to Tanya Shreve our
new Manager of Corporate and
Resident Services. Tanya has
worked in long-term care for 14
years and was previously an
Administrator at Copper Terrace in
Chatham before joining the Huron
Lodge team. Feel free to come
and introduce yourself to Tanya.
Her office is in the administration
hallway.
Satisfaction Surveys
The last of the Satisfaction
Surveys were mailed out in late
November. Kindly return the
surveys to the home by December
31. Thank you for your feedback!
Labelling of Clothing
If you would like a Christmas gift
labelled prior to giving it to your
loved one please bring the items
in as early as possible. This will
assist the staff in getting the items
returned to you in a timely manner
and will help ease the volume that
we receive in the days prior to
Christmas.
Reminder to Families!!!
Just a reminder not to reset the
alarm at the front door. The alarm
lets the Registered staff know
which resident is at the front door.
A registered staff member will
reset the alarm after ensuring the
resident’s whereabouts. Thank
you for helping us keep our
residents safe.
Giving Tree Success!!!
Thank you to everyone who
supported this years Giving Tree.
In an effort to give back to our
community, Huron Lodge supports
local families in need by making
their Christmas wish lists come
true. The generosity of all was
astounding as all the gift tags were
removed from the tree before the
end of November!! The gifts will be
delivered to the school on
Wednesday Dec.20th.
Montessori Presentations
In 2018 the home will be offering a
Montessori Programming
education session to those
families and friends that are
interested in utilizing this resource
when visiting with their loved one.
Montessori Programming are
activities designed to support the
abilities of those with dementia by
offering them activities of interest
that allow them choice, creativity
and opportunities for success. If
you are interested in learning
about Montessori please contact
Amanda (ext. 8244) to sign up.
Family Council
If you are interested in developing
a family council for the home
please contact Larry Laliberte at
either [email protected] or at
519-981-0822.
Chaplain Services
In October we said goodbye to our
Chaplain the Reverend Sue
Paulton. Sue has graciously
decided to stay on as a volunteer
and will continue with our Chime
Choir. Until the home acquires
another Chaplain please direct all
requests of a spiritual nature to the
social work department.
The Last Laugh....
From the Reader’s Digest
As we were putting out cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve, I accidentally dropped one.
"No problem," I said, picking it up and dusting it off before placing it back on the plate.
"You can’t do that," argued my four-year-old.
"Don’t worry. Santa will never know."
He shot me a look. "So he knows if I’ve been bad or good, but he doesn’t know the cookie fell on the floor?
