Volume 3 Issue No. 12 Serving the Inland Empire and High Desert Communites December 2012 By Marilyn James Miller The Inland Empire Chapter of Tennessee State University Alumni Association recently celebrated their first anniversary, along with Tennessee State University’s Centennial year. The University was founded in 1912 and the chapter was chartered in 2011. On November 11, 2012, chapter members, friends and family convened at Walters Restaurant in Claremont, California for their Anniversary Brunch. Among the noted guests were Congressman Joe Baca’s Representative Michael Townsend, who presented a certificate of Congressional Recognition on his behalf. Also, Theo Maxey, Far West Regional Vice President of Tennessee State University National Alumni Association extended words of encouragement. The chapter previously received Senate and Assembly recognition from Senator Gloria Negrete McLeod and Assembly Member Wilmer Amina Carter. Over the past year, the chapter contributed back to school supplies to women and children homes in Pomona, Upland, and San Bernardino. Holiday food donations were given to nonprofit organizations in Rialto and Riverside. Additionally, the chapter participates in college/career fairs throughout the Inland Empire. During our Centennial Celebration in June of 2012, high school graduates Onyx Linton (Los Osos High School) and Tariq Henson (Eisenhower High School) were recognized for their academic excellence and outstanding service to the community. Mr. Linton is pursuing premedical studies and Mr. Henson is pursuing engineering studies. The ultimate goal of the Inland Empire Chapter is to make every effort to ensure that students have the information necessary to make informed decisions about their educational needs. These efforts are made to empower our students and to enrich the lives of our families, thus strengthening our communities. Inland Empire Chapter Of Tennessee State University Alumni Association Celebrates First Anniversary As part of Time Warner Cable’s $3.8 million contribution to space shuttle Endeavour that included helping deliver the shuttle to the California Science Center, Time Warner Cable took a group of 100 youth, from underserved areas of Los Angeles, to visit the shuttle in its new home at the California Science Center on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. The students from Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum, a Compton based nonprofit organization that brings aviation history to life and empowers the dreams of youth to take flight, and A Place Called Home, a south central based nonprofit organization that empowers underserved youth through programs in education, arts, and wellbeing, participated in a variety of unique and exciting STEM activities. The kids, which ranged from ages 818 years old, had the opportunity to get up close and personal with Endeavour with a shuttle lesson and tour of the shuttle pavilion with California Science Center educators. They also did a number of live experiments and demonstrations including a special liquid nitrogen demonstration to simulate the extreme temperatures of space, experiments with living and nonliving objects to demonstrate effects of the extremely cold space environment and the “Life in a Vacuum” demonstration, which is a challenge that helps kids understand what it’s like to live in space. To end the event filled afternoon, the children had a theatrical, IMAX experience and journey with a special screening of “Hubble 3D,” a film about the Hubble space telescope’s legacy that is narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio. Time Warner Cable presented the special experience as part of the company’s Connect A Million Minds initiative, a fiveyear, $100 million commitment to inspire the next generation of problem solvers by connecting young people to the wonders of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM.) Time Warner Cable Treats 100 Los Angeles Students from Compton’s Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum and South Los Angeles’ A Place Called Home Nonprofit Organizations to a Special Space Shuttle Endeavour and STEM Field Trip As store shelves fill up with holiday lights and decorations, families and friends are preparing to celebrate the festive season. And as they get together to celebrate, Southern California Edison (SCE) has a simple message: don’t let potential fire hazards such as frayed cords and unsafe conditions like broken lights ruin the festivities. “During the holiday season, it’s easy to get distracted with all the things you need to prepare around your home for your family and guests. Taking short cuts may seem to save time, but it’s important not to rush and be safe,” said William Messner, SCE’s manager, Corporate Health and Safety. “We want all our customers to enjoy the holidays, so we urge them to be aware of potential risks associated with decorating such as falling off ladders, fires and electrical hazards.” Close to 83 percent of people decorate their homes as part of the winter holidays, according to the Electrical Safety Foundation International. And the most common winter holiday decorations are lighted Christmas trees (83 percent), indoor decorations using electric lights (63 percent) and outdoor light decorations (58 percent). From 20052009, an annual average of 240 home fires started with Christmas trees, resulting in 13 deaths, 27 injuries, and $16.7 million in property damage. About 5,800 people each year are treated in hospital emergency rooms for falls associated with holiday decorations. More than half of these injuries were caused by falls from ladders or roofs while decorating outdoors. During this holiday season, SCE has a few helpful tips: Do not use decorative lighting with frayed cords and wires, broken fuses or broken light bulbs. Do not use staples, nails or tacks to hang electrical cords. These can pierce the protective insulation.Plug no more than three strands of lights into each electrical cord or outlet.Never use lighted candles on or near holiday trees or decorations.Use wooden or fiberglass ladders when decorating outdoors. Metal ladders conduct electricity. More safety tips are available at: www.SCE.com/holidaysafety. Follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/SCE) and like us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/SCE). By John TaylorHas your website ever been banned forspamming the internet or using unethicaltechniques? If you are in charge of the search

engine optimization (SEO) for your website thisis, more often than not, the result ofinexperience and a lack of knowledge about whatis and is not acceptable in terms of optimization. If you have hired an SEO company to undertake

optimization for you, on the other hand, theyhave been sprung using black hat techniques andyou should really consider taking your businesselsewhere.Keyword Stuffing: The search engines look atsomething known as ‘keyword density', whichcalculates how many times a keyword is used ona particular page. Shove your keywords in toomany times and the search engines will thinkyou're spamming them.Cloaking: This is a phrase used to describe awebsite that shows one lot of information tosearch engines and another to human visitors. This is often seen as a misleading SEOtechnique, but there are situations in which itcan be used without penalty.Hidden Text: Whilst this was once a popularSEO technique for adding in keywords, the act ofhiding text in the background (by making thefont the same colour), using negative margins orplacing it somewhere else invisible is consideredhighly unethical.Gateway Pages: Some people like to create webpages or entire websites for the sole purpose ofranking highly and sending traffic onto the mainsite. If these gateway pages don't provide users

with any SEO value, however, they can bebanned.URL Redirection: This happens when a user orsearch engine is redirected to another websitewithout their knowledge. Some SEO's use thistechnique to acquire the Page Rank of thedestination page, whilst others are trying to sendyou to dodgy websites.Link Farms: This is an SEO technique that isalmost as old as the term itself. Some people tryto trick the system by creating a community ofwebsites that all link to each other; they try totake advantage of the fact that link popularity is amajor factor in ranking.Fortunately, the search engines have becomeincreasingly smarter when it comes to rootingout those websites that are utilizing black hat andunethical SEO techniques. Whilst thesetechniques might give your website some prettygood results to begin with, you can rest assuredthat it will only be a day or two until the searchengines realize what you are doing and land youwith a hefty penalty or even a ban. There areplenty of other SEO techniques out there thatyou would be better off using.

By Ethel MartinMillerI thought I should write an article thisholiday season to wake up the speedingdrivers, the texting drivers, mobile phonetalkers, and address all those otheractivities that go on inside a vehicle thatdistract people from driving safely. Ohyeah, I don’t want to forget all the peoplewho drive under the influence of whateverand feel they are in control of the wheel. Idon’t know if it is me, my imagination orwhat, but I see on a daily basis, peopledriving fast and running through red lightsas if it is the right thing to do. Most of thecars on the freeways are speeding to thepoint I sometime feel I’m on a racetrack.Or I find myself speeding up and moving toanother lane, because I see people drivingtoo slowly. Fast drivers are texting crazywhile driving, and that is scary.I observed a young lady running rightthrough a stop sign while texting. I tried tocatch up with her to tell her that she didn’tstop at the stop sign and that someone wasgoing to get killed or hurt. I wasn’t able tocatch up with her at that point. All I coulddo was whisper a prayer for her andeverybody else traveling her way.More and more I hear on the news about

regular everyday people hitting, not oneperson, but several people or groups ofpeople without stopping to see if they canhelp or call 911. These drivers leave thescene of the accident and become the topstory for the evening news. Now the policeare looking for them because they’recriminals. The people who are texting, talking on the mobile phone, under theinfluence of whatever are the ones whothink it will not happen to them; but itdoes, so please be safe this holiday season. Many people will be traveling this holidayseason, and I hope that I can give someonesomething to think about before they getinside an automobile. My message to all ofus is to play it safe, and obey the law. Ifyou can’t control yourself, put your mobilephone on the back seat or turn them offwhen you are driving because it canhappen to you. Tell your teenagers to puttheir mobile phones on the back seat orturn them off. We want to have a beautifulChristmas, keeping Christ in our heartsand minds and bringing in the new yearwith peace, joy, and happiness. Pleaseknow that good people, if they don’t followthe laws, can end up in prison for a stupidmistake. Let’s make the right choices thisholiday season.

By Matt Perry NguyenIf this is your firsttime to receive and managea business credit card and you wish to know howyou can responsibly handle your existing line ofcredit then, you've surely found the right article. In the paragraphs below, we have enumeratedand tackled several tips guaranteed to helpbusiness owners, like you, succeed in theirrespective quests to responsibly use their creditcard accounts.Pay your credit card bills prudently. Thismeans that you have to submit early or ontimepayments to your credit card issuer. There areplenty of benefits associated with this goodcredit habit. First of all, your business can avoidmaking extra payments on pesky fees andcharges, such as late payment penalties, whichare usually charged to delinquent creditcardholders. Second, such habit can help youbuild a solid credit profile for your enterprise. And this will in turn help improve the financialprospects of your small shop or store.

Settle your bills in full. Apart from submittingontime payments to your card issuer, we alsoencourage you to pay your credit card charges infull. Always remember that submitting just theminimum amount due can cause your interestcharges to balloon out and soon get way out ofhand.Hence, to keep your interest paymentsminimal, you should resolve to pay your creditcard bills not just prudently, but alsocompletely. Keep your business credit cardspending in check. Although business creditcards usually have high spending limits, itdoesn't mean that you have to max yours out.Keep in mind that credit utilization, otherwiseknown as your business debttolimit ratio, influences the computation of your businesscredit score. And if you happen to spend beyondthe credit limit imposed on your line of creditthen, there's a huge possibility that the creditscore of your enterprise will instantly drop. This is the reason why we encourage businesscardholders like you to keep a tab on their

transactions. Make it a habit to check theavailable balance on your credit card beforecharging your purchases and bills on it. Thatway, you can determine if you still have enoughbalance you can use on your account. Otherwise, you may have to pay for your expenses in cash.Don't forget to ask for receiptsand proofs of yourcredit card transactions. Keep in mind that thesedocuments will not only help you validate theentries found in your monthly billingstatements. You can also use them for disputingerrors or inconsistencies you discovered in yourbusiness credit report. So, never throw yourreceipts, proofs of payment and other financialrecords away. Instead, keep them with yourother business records so that you can easilyretrieve them when an urgent need arises.Say NO to offers for more business creditcards. After all, managing multiple lines of creditcan push you down into debt traps and tarnishthe good credit reputation of your business. Thismeans that, for the meantime, you should turndown offers for additional business credit card

accounts. And try revisiting them ONLY whenyou're confident that your enterprise can affordto keep up with its future credit card charges, without compromising its existing financialobligations.

By Christian FeaCreating a valuable business referral plan can be vital to the continuedgrowth of your company. Since the best source of referrals is always goingto be happy consumers or clients, you cannot find a move valuable prospectthan an individual that has been sent to your business from a satisfiedcustomer. The biggest challenge for any business is how to get theirsatisfied customers to openly and actively promote their products andservices.Make the Business Referral Plan Work for YouThere are a few basics toimplement in any good marketing plan that will help to train your currentclients to be walking, talking representatives of your business.AskIt may sound simplified and it is. However, often the simple task ofasking for referrals falls to the wayside in the daytoday grind oftentimes. The best time to ask for a business referral is while in the process ofdelivering the most excellent services or products. For etiquettes sake, trynot to ask for referrals at the beginning of a transaction, but instead as thetransaction is being completed such as when making changes or during thesigning of a contractualagreement.Teach Your Consumers to

Work for Your BusinessMake it as easy as possible for your current clientsto refer your business. While many of your consumers would be happy torefer you, they may not know how. Create a short, catchy and easytoremember URL for referrals, or give away free business cards near whereconsumers pay or check out from your products or services. Buy or build asign up box where customers can sign up to a monthly newsletter or jotdown a friend’s contact information. If you utilize online review serviceslike Yelp, make sure to share where consumers can go to leave you apositive review. Buy that easytoremember domain name to redirect toyour review site.Thank Your ReferrersAlways thank referrers. Find a manageable systemfor rewarding and acknowledging those who refer their friends, family andassociates to you. For those who refer entire businesses to you it’simportant to find something bigger and better than the acknowledgementsyou give those individual referrers. Consider consulting a marketing expertto help you create your own method of referral rewards for your employeesas well as your consumers or clients.Wordofmouth is still the best method of marketing referrals in today'sdigital age. While many of the referrals today do comethrough digital platforms such as social networks, they are still, in essence, the same as those referralsgiven facetoface. Those consumers who come toyour business via a referral from a friend or associateare arriving on your business's doorstep with a defaultlevel of increased trust that differs from a walkin orbrowseby type of consumer. Always nurture thoserelationships and you will have one more customerwilling to increase the chance of wordofmouth stylereferrals. This continual cycle of any good businessreferral plan will work for your businessScience

3 Tips to Make Customers Key in Your Business Referral Plan

By Patricia WolochWhether in the workplace or on the footballfield, or even amongst members of a community, effective teamwork can produce incredible results. However, working successfully as a team is not aseasy as it may seem. Effective teamwork certainlydoes not just happen automatically; it takes agreat deal of hard work and compromise. Thereare a number of factors that must be in place tocohere together as a team and work seamlessly.• Good leadership: Effective leadership is one ofthe most important components of goodteamwork. The team's leader should possess theskills to create and maintain a positive workingenvironment and motivate and inspire the teammembers to take a positive approach to work andbe highly committed. An effective team leader willpromote a high level of morale and make themfeel supported and valued.• Clear communication: Communication is a vitalfactor of all interpersonal interaction andespecially that of a team. Team members must beable to articulate their feelings, express plans andgoals, share ideas and see each other's viewpoints.• Establishing roles: It is absolutely necessary forteam members to understand what their role onthe team is, what he/she is responsible for. The

team leader can enable this by defining thepurpose in a clearcut manner in the beginning ofthe formation of the team.• Conflict Resolution: Conflicts will arise nomatter how well a team functions together. Thebest way to counter conflict is to have structuredmethods of conflict resolution. Team membersshould be able to voice their concerns without fearof offending others. Instead of avoiding conflictissues, a handson approach that resolves themquickly is much better. It is often advised that theteam leader sit with the conflicting parties andhelp work out their differences without takingsides and trying to remain objective if possible.• Set a good example: The team leader must set agood example for good teamwork to come about. In order to keep team members positive andcommitted and motivated, the team leaderherself/himself needs to exhibit these qualities. The team looks to the leader for support andguidance so any negativity on the leader's part canbe disastrous.Regardless of what type of sales you are in, youmay one day be asked to be part of a team saleseffort, and knowing how to effectively work onand with a team is going to be crucial to yoursuccess and that of your team.

How Can I Communicate With Senior Managers?

From time to time, though, therecould come a time where you, as an ITprofessional will need to communicatewith senior managers at your job. Thiscould be for a variety of reasons. Youmight be asked to present somethingto a senior manager (or even moredaunting a few senior managers!).You may need to incorporateinformation to an email to getdelivered to someone at a senior level.

Or it may be various other parts ofyour job.For the purposes of this particulararticle, I mention senior managementas somebody who is involved inmaking key decisions in your business, and is at least two levels above you onthe organizational chart. So, yourboss's boss, at least. While they mightnot have a senior or executive title, they do have a different area of

obligation and it can seemoverwhelming to need to speak tothem. There are some things you cando to really succeed. Don't Panic WhenCommunicating With SeniorManagement Senior professionals getcreated in the prime of their careerfrom nothing and are automaticallyawesome at everything they do. I'mkidding, by the way.Senior managers are senior mainlybecause they have the experiencedoing roles at more junior levels orother elements of a business. They'vebeen in your situation before. They'vegiven presentations and providedinformation to other executives beforethey got to their position. So, theyknow what it's like to be where youare. For that reason, you shouldn'tpanic. Don't think a lot about whatmay go wrong when you speak toothers. Attempt to relax. Concentrateon what you're trying to say orcommunicate to them, and just say it.Don't Go Into Too Much Detail It'svery easy for us IT professionals todescribe the details of what isrequested of us to senior managers. We think it's relevant, it's important, and it matters to what's being talkedabout. Leaving it out would be crazy!

Before we go into too much detail, weshould try to see it from their side. They more than likely don't want thedetails. Their time is precious and theydon't need to find out the specifics. They have an interest in differentareas of the company and aren'tusually focused on technical areas. Ifyou have to give an update to a seniormanager on a critical system outage, they would likely be thinking aboutspecific things like the expectedresolution time, who's examining theissue presently, and who to contact tofind out more. They probably don't need to find outabout server logs and possible causes.Afterwards, they might, if some kindof review is done. But this is just oneexample. The idea here is that we needto understand which information isimportant and which isn't. Know WhatYou're Talking About Depending onthe manager you're speaking to, theycan be pretty picky. In fact, seniormanagers will have other managerswhich they are accountable to and areaccountable to. This means anythingyou tell them is likely to be passed onto their manager. This is relevant toknow, because if the incorrect detailsare communicated or if it's uncertain,

it can cause problems.Be sure to know what you're talkingabout when communicating withsenior managers. If you're unsure, don't hesitate to say so. It's better to benot sure about something, and say so,than to pick a response or a solutionwhich might be incorrect. They willmake decisions or take actions basedupon what you tell them, so as long asit's correct, it will be OK. Be sure to tellthem your concerns if it isn't accurate. For example, if we use the samesituation as above where there is anoutage another team tells you thehardware will arrive and be installedin four hours, but you're doubtful itcan be done that quickly. Managementthen ask you for an update. It's a goodidea to mention the four hourresolution, but also mention yourconcerns that it may not be accurate, and why. This may allow the managersto take necessary action.Learning how to communicate withsenior managers seems to be anintimidating experience, but it doesn'tneed to be. Once you're able to focusand ensure you're communicating theproper information, it'll be a lot easier!

Taking Personal Responsibility for a HealthyGrowth We are personally responsible for ourprogress in devotion to God. We have to assumethis responsibility trusting that God will worktogether with us. God will not work for us withoutour own responsibility for compliance. Awaken, there are things we have to do, not as an exchangeor a condition for God to give us what theypromised, but, for us to be prepared. We need to beprepared for what we have received not harm us ormake us evil, but that we can make good.1.Aim to Grow our Personal Spiritual Life forHealth The Apostle Timothy needed to grow in keyareas such as: The Fear of God, understanding ofGod's love, the longing for God's presence andfellowship with the Holy Spirit. We also need it inother areas and that God sees fit. In the Churchmany believers talented and capable, but very fewbelievers devoted to God. The emphasis of thisgeneration is to serve God, to accomplish things forGod, which is not bad, but the activity cannot in anyway replace holiness, devotion and consecration toGod. The Apostle Paul told Timothy be an exampleIn speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity orintegrity.2.Know the Cost of Commitment for a HealthyGrowth No one comes to the Olympics or level ofnational powers, without a commitment to pay theprice of rigorous daily workout. In the same way, noone becomes a saint without a commitment to paythe price of daily spiritual discipline that Goddesigned for us to grow in holiness and devotion toGod. All this requires commitment. There is a priceto holiness, consecration and devotion to God and isnever coming REBATE neither cheap nor EASILY.It requires a persevering, diligent and conscientiousabout our part in what it takes.3.Have a Teacher or Coach Competent for aHealthy Growth No athlete for more natural ability

or talent you have, you can get to the Olympicswithout a coach who rises to the highest standardsof excellence and monitor and correct every littlemistake. In the same way, we can not disciplineourselves to be holy without our coach. The HolySpirit is our teacher and coach, elevates us to thehighest standards of spiritual excellence as weteach, rebuke, correct and train through His Word.We have to spend much time in the Word of God asthis is the environment in which God speaks, teaches, rebukes, corrects and trains directly. Finally for a Healthy Growth You Need toPractice, Practice and Practice Is the practice whichputs Feet engagement and applied teaching coach,is the practice where the skill is developed, whichmakes a competitive athlete in his sport. There areno shortcuts to the devotion and holiness of God, isfidelity media every day that God has destined andusing the Holy Spirit to enable us to grow and beprepared. Our primary goal in this practice is theskill in the Ministry serving God, but the holinessand devotion to God. We want to be skilled at theMinistry, but more important is to focus on ourrelationship with God. Holiness or devotion to Godis a means of great gain when accompanied bycontentment. By Pastor John H. ClarkIn this article I will examine 3 majorareas where the church of today isoperating out of the will of God. These3 areas are Christmas, Easter, and the10 Commandment Laws.We assume that because the holidaysare well intended, and because Jesus isthe focus of the holidays that no harmis being done. In reality, it does notmatter what you believe, think, feel, practice, or what you have been taughtall your life. If it does not line up withthe word of God, it’s wrong, and you’reout of order. That being said, let’sexamine what is being taught, verseswhat the scripture says.Christmas: I challenge anyonereading this article to go to you Bibleand find the word Christmas. Ichallenge you to find the scripture thatinstructs you to hang lights, decoratetrees, buy gifts, or for that matter, celebrate the birth of Christ.

Most Christmas stories represent 3wise men coming to the manager, butthere is nothing in scripture that saysthere were only 3 wise men. Matthew2:711. The word of the birth of Christwas not given to the wise men, but tothe Shepherds. Luke 2:1012We must realize that although themodern day Christmas story may bewarm and fuzzy, it is not factual, and itcertainly is not based on scripture.Furthermore, the commercial aspect ofChristmas certainly has no place in ourChurch. When Easter is mentioned in Acts12:4, it means Passover, and most ofus know how and when the Passoverstory begins. We know the story ofJoseph and how the children of Israelcame to live in Egypt. Genesis 3746:6We know that the Jews dwelled inEgypt for several generations. Exodus12:4041. We know that when thePharaoh, with whom Joseph had

found favor died, the new ruler ofEgypt became worried that the Jewswould take over his people and hispower. To avoid this, he forced theminto slavery. Exodus 1:111We remember the story from ourchildhood of how, even though theEgyptians made their lives horrible, the children of Israel thrived in Egypt.Exodus 1:12. We remember the storyMoses, how he came to be in Egypt, how he was raised in the house of thePharaoh, and how he came to be faceto face with the Pharaoh to demandthat the children of Israel be set free.Exodus 1:153:10We know that when God sent Mosesto the Pharaoh to ask for the freedomof the children of Israel he knew hewould refuse. Exodus 7:23. Evenafter witnessing the miracles andsuffering the plagues that Godinstructed Moses to bring againstEgypt the Pharaoh would still not let

the children of Israel go. The 10th andfinal plague was that all of thefirstborn children and animals inEgypt would die. Exodus 7:811:10Most of us know by heart the story ofhow The Lord spoke to Moses andAaron and instructed them regardingthe meal of the Passover, the bloodthey were to put on the 2 sides of theirdoor, and on the upper door post. Weremember that the blood was to be atoken, so that where the blood was theLord would pass over that house.Hence, the name “Passover.” Exodus12:113. We seem to get a little foggyafter that, but we must remember thatEaster has nothing to do with theresurrection.God instructed Moses to keep thePassover Feast for a memorial forIsrael. Exodus 12:14. We mustremember that for us the Passovermeal represents Christ as the bread oflife. Matthew 26:2628, I Corinthians

11:2326, because it was a type ofChrist, our Redeemer, John 1:29,I Corinthians 5:7, I Peter 1:1819, thePassover lamb had to be withoutblemish just as Jesus was withoutblemish. John 18:38, and just as theblood applied to the door postprotected the children of Israel, theblood of Jesus is our perfectprotection. Hebrews 10:1014, I John1:7How can we be so blinded as to allowsomething so sacred to coexist withsuch foolish as Easter eggs, the Easterbunny, and a new Easter hat? Forthose who say there is no harm; forthose who would claim that thesecelebrations are for the children, Ianswer that the manipulation, misinterpretation, or misuses of theword of God is in direct violation ofnew testament order.

Who is a woman of God and what is herrightful position? Women of God areresponsible for an enviable position in God'skingdom, of which they will give account oflater to God. You will surely see good dayswhen you obey God's command.Related Articles Mt. Sinai and the Day ofJudgment God of Life Why Serve God? ACurious Mother's Day StoryRise up, you women who are at ease! Hearmy [Isaiah's] voice, you confident andcareless daughters! Listen to what I amsaying! In little more than a year you will beshaken with anxiety, you careless andcomplacent women; for the vintage will fail, and the ingathering will not come. Tremble, you women who are at ease! Shudder withfear, you complacent ones! Strip yourselvesbare and gird sackcloth upon your loins [ingrief]! Isaiah 32:911 (AMP)You are to wake up from slumber and geton your knees, if you are to continue to seegood days in future. Your today is as a resultof the prayers you prayed or did not prayyesterday; and your tomorrow will be aresult of prayers prayed or not prayed today.Who is a woman of God? But to as many asdid receive and welcome Him, He gave theauthority (power, privilege, right) to becomethe children of God, that is, to those whobelieve in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on)His name John 1:12 (AMP)We can deduce from the above scripturethat a woman of God is a woman who lovesGod, has received Jesus as her personalsaviour and obeys all His commands, both

the written word of God and the personalinstructions from God. In addition, God isher number one priority: every other thing issecondary. Her life is centred on God. Also, she loves people and shows it by her actions.Furthermore, she lives a sacrificial life. Whatis the rightful position to take? Based ontoday's text (Isaiah 32: 920), the rightfulposition to take is "on your knees." It is aposition you must maintain if you want tosee good days all your life, in your family, church or nation. You are to arise and takethe position of a diligent prayer warrior.Otherwise, the forces of darkness will have afree day causing havoc within your territory:strife, division, sickness and diseases, poverty, and abominable occurrences willcome like bandits.Prayers keep the enemy away from yourterritory. The more you pray, the fartheraway he goes. That means, the lesser youpray, the closer he comes. It's like a torchlight in the night: the brighter it becomes, the more darkness disappears. Why do youneed to pray? You pray for things to happen according tothe plan of God. Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) tellsus the plan of God, "For I know the thoughtsand plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peaceand not for evil, to give you hope in yourfinal outcome."God's plan is for you to continuously seegood days. And one way to bring it to pass isby asking God to fulfil His plan and purposein all that concerns you. He says to ask andyou will receive, which means that if you donot ask you will not receive.

By Williams OrchardBad credit auto loans can be availedat lower rates. You just need tounderstand the car loan process andbe ready for it. Essential informationmentioned here will help you buy thecar of your choice irrespective of yourcredit ratings.Do not believe when someone saysthat better car loan rates are only forpeople with good credit. It is not true.Anyone can enjoy lowinterest rates ifhe reduces the risk factor associatedwith him. So, even you can enjoyaffordable car financing with badcredit score. Prepare Yourself for theCar Loan Process Car loan process canbe a lengthy and a strenuous one. But,you can make it easier by preparing forit beforehand.Prepare a budget so that you know

how much you can afford to spend onthe car. Calculate all your monthlyincome and expenses and decide howmuch monthly payment is possible foryou. Don't forget to consider costsrelated to the car like registration fees, taxes, insurance, maintenance, etc. Itwill help you to take an accuratedecision. This step is very importantfor people with bad credit because anywrong decision can further deteriorateyour credit score. Also, you must order your freeannual credit report and check for anyerrors. It is a known fact that creditbureaus mess up transactions. So,inspect the report thoroughly. Ifpossible payoff few debts to improveyour credit score.Used Cars can be Beneficial As usedcars are of lesser value, the overallauto loan cost is lower compared to

new cars. This situation is perfect for abad credit borrower because a smallerauto loan is much more manageablethan a larger loan. So, opt for a usedcar. But, don't compromise on thequality of the car. The vehicle shouldalways be reliable because you don'twant to spend your money on a lemonor a junk.Searching for a Subprime LenderDo not apply with your nearestlender/dealer. Instead, take some timein research. Only apply with thoselenders that offer bad credit autoloans. Most subprime lenders workwith borrowers who have credit issues. So, contact reputed subprime lendersand apply with them. How to GetBetter Rates?Don't think bad credit score is theonly factor that is responsible forapproval. You can enjoy better rates by

concentrating on other factors. IncomeProof When lenders see your regularincome, they will consider you a lessrisky borrower. For this purpose, useyour pay stubs and/or incometaxstatements. CoSigner As the cosigneralso reduces credit risk, lender'sconfidence increases in you.Down Payment Down payment canreally work for someone with poorcredit history. As you put money down, auto loan amount reduces. This meansyour total loan cost comes down.TradeIn If you have an old car, youcan use it for tradein. It will lower thecar financing amount. Also, it isbeneficial for those individuals whofind down payment difficult.Applying for a Bad Credit Car LoanWon't Lower your Credit Score Peoplewith bad credit ratings are oftenapprehensive of applying for a bad

credit auto loan. They think thatinquiries on their credit score willmake it worse. But, the reality isdifferent.Fair Isaac Corporation, the companythat handles FICO scores hasannounced that all inquiries madewithin 30 days of car loan shoppingwon't affect your credit score. Now, thenumber of days may reduce to 14 if thelender uses previous versions of FICOscores and increase to 45 if he uses thelatest formula. This means there will be noreduction in your credit ratings if youapply for car loans with poor credithistory. SoComputer TechnologyArticles, go out there and apply forauto financing without any worry.Hope you soon get better rates on a carloan and buy your dream car!

Bad Credit Car Loans : Enjoy Better Auto Loan Rates evenwith Poor Credit History

By Mark VeniteChoosing the right college loanconsolidation program is as importantas choosing the right college. So, itpays to take time to consider theprograms on offer before signing up toone. The idea that all college loanconsolidation programs are the same isdeeply flawed. There is an array ofprogram types and options, andperhaps even more importantly, avariety of lenders providing them.

Finding the right program for yoursituation takes a little effort. For any student or graduate facingdebts of tens of thousands of dollars, the future can seem quite bleak. This iswhere managing college debteffectively can make such a difference, and it is commonly accepted that themost viable method of doing this isconsolidating the debt. But with bothfederal loans and private loans grantedto students, consolidation is made alittle more complicated.

There is a wide range ofconsolidation programs to handle theconstructive repayment of thesecollege loans. But the right onedepends on your situation and thenature of your existing loans.Consolidation Explained As the namesuggests, consolidation is all aboutgathering a number of debts togetherand buying them out with one singleloan. The advantaged of this strategy isthat one debt is a lot easier to managethan several. This is the basis ofcollege loan consolidation programs. To students and graduates alike, budgets are effective ways to managewhat little money they may have. Andthe fact that several debts arecompressed into one means theirefforts to balance the books are helpedgreatly. By managing college debt insuch an effective way, the pressure islifted from their shoulders. For example, a graduate may havespent four years in college, and havetaken out five separate college loans topay fees and cover some livingexpenses. Each of these loans havedifferent interest rates and repaymentschedules. But replacing these loans

with one single loan is much more costeffective. Choosing the RightConsolidation Program Typically, acollege loan consolidation programsees a group of loans brought together, and a new repayment schedule agreed.Usually, this entails agreeing a longerloan term so as to lower the actualmonthly repayments. For example, instead of repaying $50,000 over 5years, the term is extended to 10 years, thus reducing repayments from $850to $420.Finding a program that reduces therepayments by such a degree is a corepart of getting the right deal. However, the interest charged is also hugelyimportant, with the extended termeffectively meaning more interest ispaid over the lifetime of theconsolidation loan. Still, managingcollege debt in this way lifts thepressure. The other issue to consider iswhether consolidation is for federal orprivate college loans. There areconsolidation programs available forboth categories, but not all of themallow for a mix of the two. So, incertain cases, some but not all loans

can be consolidated.Where To Go So, with all of theseissues considered, where does agraduate go to get the right collegeloan consolidation program? Well, there are several options, but again itis sometimes dictated by the nature ofyour loans. For example, for federalloans it is best to approach thefinancial aid office on campus andapply for a federal consolidation loan. Here, applicants are advised whichprogram to apply for. After all, managing college debt throughconsolidation is an option reserved forthose in real financial difficulties. If your college loans are privatelysecured, however, then it is a goodidea to approach your existing lender. They are often willing to strike aconsolidation deal with theirborrowers, and it saves students andgraduates the trouble of applying. But there is always room for a betterdeal, and it is possible to track downsome great options online. Just takecare to consider the interest rateschargedFree Web Content, andwhether any real savings are made.

It was a family tradition, like afamily reunion. What would the holiday’s look like without them? How would I be able to survive the challenges of grief during thisseason? How would I deal with the empty void?My mom passed away a few weeks prior to Thanksgiving. Shehad suffered various illnesses over a two year period. During thattime, my father in law, who was almost like a father to me,suffered a severe heart attack. Although he had fallen sick, wehad Thanksgiving with him as a family for the last time.Everything hit me when my father in law fell sick. The weepingbegan. Sadness had overcome me, I didn’t understand. I haddone so well during and after my mom’s home going service. Ididn’t know how to deal with my emotions. As I look back, I wasdealing with the challenges of grief and sensing the loss of our

family traditions. What did the future hold for us? It would notbe the same anymore. How would we celebrate without them? These were the internal questions going on inside of me. Ourfamily tradition was no longer traditional. How would we plan theholidays without our loved ones or even understand the emotionsof grief.Grief is a natural, healthy response we experience after sufferingthe loss of someone or something that is of value to us. In the OldTestament, grief was a sign of mourning for men to shave theirheads and beards or pluck out the hairs from their beards todisplay their anguish. (Isaiah 15:2, Jeremiah 48:37, Leviticus 10:6)In fact, The New Testament tells us that even Jesus grieved. Jesuswept over the loss of His dear friend Lazarus (John 11:3536). Healso experienced intense anguish as He anticipated the loss of Hisrelationship with His Father as He agonized in prayer inGethsemane (Luke 22:44). Jesus described His grief saying, “Mysoul is exceeding sorrowful, even to death (Mathew 26:38).Grief involves many different feelings and emotions. Some ofthe symptoms associated with grief are shock, anger, denial, depression, guilt, acceptance, yearning for the person, problemswith memory and concentration, loneliness, energy loss, withdrawal from spiritual things, and anger with God.Author and theologian, C.S. Lewis in “A Grief Observed,” indescribing his experience with loss after the tragic death of hiswife said, “The first emotion I felt was fear. No one ever told megrief felt so much like fear. I am not afraid, but the sensation islike being afraid. The fluttering in the stomach, the samerestlessness, the yawning. I keep on swallowing. At other times itfeels like being mildly drunk or confused.” As Lewis, Iexperienced similar emotions with the loss of a dear friend and

with my mother. The sensations I felt upon hearing the news wasshock, numbness, and exhaustion.Another sensation I experienced was an outburst of crying. Mydad had given me this beautiful photo of my mother, he felt Ishould have a copy of. A few weeks after my mother’s home goingservice, and right after Thanksgiving with my father in law, I tookthe photo to WalMart to have it copied. As I approached thecounter for assistance, tears began to stream down my face. Ibegan to cry uncontrollably. I didn’t know why I was crying. Ilater learned that this outburst was called grieving.Everyone responds differently to grief. Some grieve openly, while others hide their feelings of distress. Some grieve quickly, while others take a long time. There is no set pattern. Everyperson is unique. However, when we do not experience thenatural grieving process, grief becomes overwhelming, and wemay never fully recover from our loved one’s death. What is the length of the mourning process last? The moreattached you are to the person, the greater the grief will be.According to noted author and counselor H. Norman Wright, “Thenormal time can vary, depending on many factors. The averagelength of mourning is approximately two years for a natural death. In the case of a terminally ill individual, the time following thedeath could be less, since some of the grieving happened prior tothe death.”Is there hope for those who grieve? Yes, there is! The Bibletells us that God’s presence will comfort us as we walk through thevalley of the shadow of death (Psalms 23:5). In the NewTestament Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they willbe comforted (Mathew 5:4). Jesus tells us we are blessed becauseGod will comfort you. When we allow God to comfort us, we willexperience a natural grieving process that Jesus says is ablessing. You can trust God to bring you through yourgrief process. He will uphold you with His righteoushand (Isaiah 41:10).What are some things you can do to helpsurvive the Holidays? The Grief Net organization offersthe following suggestions: Give expression to your griefby allowing yourself to feel the sadness of missing yourloved one, participate in activities that bring comfort andmeaning, keep in mind the feelings of your children orfamily members, surround yourself with people who willgive you support, exercise, eat right, get enough rest, starta new tradition in memory of your loved one, expressyour feelings in writing, talk to God, and stay involvedwith your church. The Effects of Homeschooling on Children's' Social Skills

By Hazel RiggThere are many approaches that families canuse if they choose to homeschool their children. As homeschooling evolves over time, there may

be several misconceptions about it.Homeschooling supporters don't believesocialization to be an issue any longer. Thehealthy development of socialization skills hasnever really been an issue, they also believe. This

very topic has been the subject of many studiesfor more than ten years. According to thesestudies, home schooled children generally havebetter developed socialization skills. While in principle public education may be adesirable way to socialize kids, the reality hasturned out to fall far short of this. The overalldirection of schools is only going downhill, andthe safety of kids is only one of the problems. Therefore it does seem that a healthy home andrelationships between parents and childrenwould almost certainly be an improvement.Homeschooling doesn't limit the opportunitiesfor children to experience life; just the contrary,it opens many more possibilities. Kids can begiven more direct experience of the world bybeing shown things in person to supplementbook learning. When it comes to how wellsocialized home schooled kids are, a lot of itoften comes down to money. In many cases thereare plenty of chances for children to receivesocial exposure.Yet many of these opportunities cost money tojoin, and this isn't affordable for all parents.Unfortunately, parents may not always be able topay all these costs, which ends up excluding thekids from these activities. Another potentialcomplication occurs when home schooled kidsfeel they are missing something by not attendinga public school. If parents tend to keep theirchildren too insulated, this can backfire and

cause them to want what other kids have. Youcan consider the advantages and disadvantagesof home schooling from several different pointsof view. It's well known that children arecompelled to develop certain social skills inpublic schools.Yet another aspect of this is that schools teachchildren to be obedient. While there are obviouspositive effects and needs for that, still it canseem there are excesses in that approach. Whentoo much emphasis is placed on rules andauthority, children may not learn to think forthemselves. Schools, in their need for order andconformity, can often stifle some importantqualities in children, such as creative andindependent thought. Children can be socializedin a number of ways, and the kind provided byschools is not necessarily the most desirablekind. Clearly, while lifelong friendships canhappen in institutional settings, there are seriousnegative effects always present. Depending onyour own preferences, the type of child you haveand the reputation of schools in your region, youhave to come to your own conclusions. Thatdecision also takes into account the many otherfactors involved. One issue that all parents mustcome to terms with is where they think theirchildren will be safest, as this has become a realconcern in modern schools. Those concernscannot and really should not be overlooked orignored by any parent.
