SERVICES AND CABINS
The Deccan Odyssey comprises 21 superlative, royal
coaches that wind their way through each well-planned
and diverse itinerary. Twelve of these contain the guest
cabins and are named after significant regions of
Maharashtra. Each cabin on the Deccan Odyssey
is spacious and equipped with every modern amenity to
make sure that your journey is comfortable and
memorable. The cabins are elegantly designed to reflect
the various eras of the Deccan dynasties, beginning your
introduction to the Deccan region of India. Each coach
has four cabins and a common lounge.
The Deccan Odyssey also offers four resplendent
Presidential Suites, the pinnacle of style and
sophistication, with exquisite décor and all modern
amenities.
The Deccan Odyssey also offers cabins for guests with
special needs, designed keeping in mind their special
requirements, with 30 inch wide door frames and all
amenities within easy access.
In keeping with the tradition of royal repasts, the
Deccan Odyssey has two gourmet restaurants on board,
Peshwa 1 and Peshwa 2, which ensure that the cuisine
keeps pace with the train’s journey. Our chefs whip up
the local specialties of each of the very diverse states
that the train makes its way through, so you experience
every new location with all your senses - taste buds
included. There is also a continental menu at each meal.
The well-stocked bar, called the Mumbai-Hi, will keep
you in high spirits through this incredible journey. It’s the
perfect place to try Indian snacks and swap stories with
your fellow travelers.
The Deccan Odyssey comes equipped with a delightful
spa, “Plumeria”, with well-trained masseurs to help you
relax your body after a long day of exploration. Using
ancient Indian techniques and skills, the salon is a great
place for some pampering and sprucing up.
For those who must attend to work there is the
well-equipped conference car, “Samvad”, fitted with
all you might need for meetings and discussions with
your colleagues.

Dal baati churma is probably Rajasthan’s most favored and
famous meal. Churma is sweet and made of coarsely powdered cereals,
had in combination with Panchmel Dal (five dals tempered with a

made of wheat, thrice cooked- steamed, baked and fried).

Aihole-Pattadakal
Arrive at Bagalkot and drive
to Aihole, called the cradle of

Pattadakal situated on the banks of
the Malaprabha river; it combines
the architectural style of South

This morning visit Badami and
explore the four cave temples
that represent the secular nature
of the Chalukyan rulers with

temples overlook the 5th century
Agustyamuni tank which has the

Hyderabadi Biryani is a nawabi aromatic preparation of long-grained
rice (like Basmati) flavoured with exotic spices like saffron, cardamom,

When Mohammad Tughlaq was shifting his capital from Delhi to
Daulatabad, and moving with his army, the cooks found it an uphill task to
provide such a big army with food. They smartly came up with a dish that
could suffice the imposing army. They dug a hot furnace and rolled out
thusands of golden colored Naan (round wheat flour bread) while cooking
mutton with a number of spices in the huge cauldron to make Khaliya.

to explore the lofty Daulatabad

Aurangabad
Today, spend the morning visiting
Bibi ka Maqbara, a replica of the
Taj Mahal and some of the
significant gates. The Deccan
