WHAT IS MEDIA LICENSE FEE?
The license is an appliance fee, set by the Parliament. Collection of the licence fee is handled by DR License, a part of DR's administration. You are legally obligated to register with DR License when you are of legal age. You need to register, within 14 days of procurement, whether you own, lease, or borrow your appliances; and regardless of whether you make use of DR's services or not. The Media License, taken into effect January 1. 2007, covers appliances such as TV sets, radios, video or DVD recorders, computers with internet access, and mobile phones and similar electronic devices, that also work as a television or radio receiver. The Radio License covers radios only. A licence covers all appliances in the household, including its car, boat, and summer residence. A house hold is:
Spouse or partner
Children; minors and children of legal age living at home - registered with the National Register of Persons (CPR) at the same address. You cannot be covered by any other persons media license, not even if you share an address with that person. It is not possible to pay the license through your rent. The media license is yours personally and it is registered to your identification number (CPR-number).

MOVING OUT
The checklist on the following page should be used as a guidance, since the tenancies vary in size and character. According to the specific tenancy other duties may occur.
The janitor will inspect the rooms and common areas, and decide if it needs cleaning. Most rooms/apartments do need cleaning despite the efforts to clean. Please be aware of the different perspective regarding cleaning, we are very strict regarding cleaning and trash. If the accommodation office decide to have the rooms/apartment/common areas cleaned by a cleaning company, you will be charged regardless.
We do not have the possibility to inspect the rooms before your departure.
Be aware that the cleaning company cannot make a detailed/specified bill on each item cleaned. The company will charge us minimum an hour work, which will be deducted your housing deposit.
All tenants are equally liable for any possible cleaning bills for the common areas, regardless your departure date.

VENTING YOUR ROOM
6. Do not let the window ajar. Don’t just let one window ajar for several hours. It will cool the
walls and other surfaces, and then it will take much more time and energy to reach the room
temperature again. Cold walls can cause condensation and lead to mold growth.
7. Notice if the windows get foggy. If the fog on the window is more than 2 cm wide, it is
a sign that you need to vent out more often.
8. Notice the smell in your apartment. If your apartment smells moldy, please open the
windows more often.
9. Keep the bathroom door closed. Once you ’ve taken a shower, make sure that the moist
air comes right out of your apartment. If you open the bathroom door, it will just spread the
moist air throughout the entire apartment. Instead, steam and hot air must come out through
the exhaust ventilation system or through a bathroom window.
10. Close the vents in - for example windows and doors. In cool weather too much air may get into the vents, and then it will require extra energy to reheat your apartment. Re-member to open vents again in the spring.
LOCKING THE DOOR
Some doors have a 3-point system, and must be locked by pulling up the handle while turning around the key, as shown on the illustration below.
If you lose your keys outside our openings hours, you must contact a lock smith. Please note this is on your own expense.

LIST OF CARETAKERS
Find your address on the list below in order to find your caretaker. When you arrive at your new accommodation, many of the caretakers do appreciate if you go and see them, they like to introduce them self and explain a little bit about the collegium, such as laundry, common areas, garbage etc.
The caretakers can be contacted for leaking pipes, toilet that won’t flush etc. Everything regarding rent and furniture must be directed to the accommodation office. Some accommodations are private rentals, and you will not have a caretaker connected directly to your accommodation.

PARTY RULES
Dear Student
We hope that you will enjoy your stay here in Aalborg, which for many of you also includes partying in the rooms and apartments.
As there has been some discrepancy in the past we would like to emphasize the importance of behaving accordingly to the house rules - especially the ones concerning partying:
It is not allowed to party in the apartment in the city center
It is not allowed to be loud/make loud noises/play loud music after 11pm
If you have a small gathering then please keep all windows closed
Overall, please behave in a respectful manner that does not annoy your neighbors and/or roommates
If the above is not respected the university will contact your home university without warnings and take actions on possible complaints regarding parties. The accommodation office can terminate your tenancy agreement without warnings if there is a complaint regarding parties without any compensation for the paid rent. Remember, “The Street”/Jomfru Ane Gade is nearby and here it is allowed to be as loud as you want.
Best regards,
International Accommodation Office
