the Trempealeau County Fair website!
Dear 4-H Families and Friends:
It is finally feeling like Spring here in Wisconsin and even starting to look like it! Temperatures are rising, school is winding down and summer plans are (finally) being made! 4-H and the Extension office are offering a lot of fun programs this summer, and we can’t wait to see you at the events! However, between camps, the Trempealeau County Fair, family time, and vacations, don’t forget to get started on your 4-H record book! This year we are looking to add some different options in how you can make a record book, so be on the look-out for that information online and via email!
Reflecting on your year of learning is a huge part of being a 4-H member and summer will (hopefully) provide time for you to think about all of the 4-H activities you have done over the last year. So this year I want you to go crazy with your record book: make a scrapbook, put together a video, or just stick to the traditional binder! The sky’s the limit and we are excited to see what you come up with! All forms and guidelines will be updated in the next few weeks on the Record Book webpage on the Extension website.
Spend some time checking it out, maybe look over a few forms now and please don’t forget to contact our office for help or if you have questions.
Yours in continued partnership, Sarah Tanis, 4-H Program Coordinator for Jackson & Trempealeau

CLUB/PROJECT MINUTES
Sunnyside A quick look at the April Sunnyside 4-H meeting: we planted the May Day flowers in the Blossom Barn Greenhouse in Taylor, WI. After the
planting, we had our meeting then started our Easter Egg Hunt. Every member had a maximum of twenty-five eggs they had to find, and the
members had fun.
We are going to deliver the May Day flowers on May 1st for the elderly people in the communities of Blair and Taylor. We planted at least 100
pansy pots in bright spring colors. Mrs. Subra taught us all how to transplant the plants into our pots. Each family will be given a list of who to
deliver to that day.
Our leader, Mrs. Everson, gave us cookies that looked like carrots during our meeting. They were AMAZING!!!!!!
Finally, the Easter Egg Hunt was a blast, we ran all around the Subras yard looking for eggs, all the families were involved in getting it ready
for us to hunt after our meeting. We are looking forward to next year’s Easter Egg Hunt!
Respectfully, Katerina Barczak and Abby Rolbiecki Sunnyside 4-H Club Reporters

Wisconsin Waiver for Pullorum
Testing for Poultry at Fair: Update The law requiring pullorum testing for “persons who use poultry or
farm-raised game birds or their eggs for breeding or hatching or for
the exhibition at a fair or livestock exhi-
bition” has been waived as of April 22,

determined that pullorum antigen is
sufficiently available. It is unclear when
that date may be.
All 4-H members received an email
about poultry testing a few weeks ago,
this is an update since that email. This
update is from the State of Wisconsin.
What this means: Poultry can be
shown at the fair without testing this
year—at least until new antigen becomes available. Notification will

shown at fair this year.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Becoming a 4-H Volunteer
4-H Volunteers are valued partners in working with our youth and help make
4-H possible. In order to volunteer, previous 4-H Youth Development expe-rience is not necessary. The most im-portant qualification is a desire to work with young people and help them grow through educational experiences and
gain positive life skills. Please consider sharing your time and talents! Adult
volunteers working together with youth make a difference in the lives of young
people.
Volunteers work with UW-Extension professionals to develop the life skills of youth members, thus benefiting the state, employers, and the economy.
Volunteers extend the resources of UW-Extension as they work with staff to deliver educational programs. Volun-teering is a privilege. How does one become a volunteer? If you have not
already done so, go to Wisconsin 4HOnline and create a family profile.
If your family is already in the system, do not create a new family profile, just make sure you are entered into your
family account and check that you want to be a 4-H volunteer. Then sign-up to
take the Online Mandated Reporter Training for 4-H Volunteers. After sign-ing up for the Online Mandated Report-
er Training sign up to attend a VIP Training session Once you’ve complet-
