Lease Your Way to Record Sales
Leasing can be an excellent option for your government, nonprofit and commercial customers. Manygovernment agencies have limited budgets in a “use it or lose it” mode where leasing would allow them toobtain the equipment they want at bid-assist pricing with a low initial investment.
Payments can be set up monthly, quarterly or annually – whatever the customer prefers. And a leasedGrasshopper can be deducted as depreciation or as an expense on customer’s income taxes depending onwhether the lease is set up as a capital lease or an operating lease. Government agencies will normallyrequire a capital lease (also called a municipal lease).
Even in fall and winter when mowing revenue slows down, buying equipment at fleet or commercial pricingstill makes sense for tax reasons and leasing is a good finance option to combine with Bid Assist, Fleet and allother sell-through programs.
It’s extra important that a leased machine is well-taken care of so it maintains high market value. That’s whyadding a service agreement to the lease is a good idea.
The chart below will help you qualify the right lease for your customers. Our recommended lease lendersprovide superior customer service and competitive rates to Grasshopper dealers. Give them a call with anylease questions or when you’re ready to complete the lease application.
