1.1 DCN-16U exchange is a compact connection unit for subscriber equipment within the DCN distributed of Public Address and General Alarm system.

1.2 The version DCN-16U ARMT.665200.001 is designed for the operation within the DCN system, based on DCN-2 or DCN-Q4E Central exchanges as a digital subscriber interfaces unit for connection of terminal equipment via Uk0-interface. DCN-16U performs digital data transmission among fifteen subscriber Uk0-interfaces and E1 line to the central exchange and it does not perform the functions of sub-scribers switching. The configuration of DCN-16U ARMT.665200.001-01, with installed DCN-Q4E switching processor module installed within its casing, in addition to the basic functions, also performs the functions of DCN central exchange, with the capacity up to four E1 streams (up to 60 subscribers). DCN systems manufactured by LLC Armtel and built with these products provide voice communication among loud-speaking subscriber devices manufactured by LLC Armtel, telephone subscribers, paging, public address and general alarm.

1.3 DCN-16U can be used at metal, chemical, oil refinery, nuclear (nuclear plants including), oil and gas production industries and other industries with similar application conditions and in transport as well.

DCN-16U is installed in telecommunication cabinets or racks, located in operator’s, control rooms and office premises; it operates within the range of temperatures from -5 °С to +55 °С with the relative air humidity up to 80 %.

The external appearance of version DCN-16U without DCN-Q4E is illustrated at Figure 1.

3 OPERATION LIFETIME AND MANUFACTURER (SUPPLIER) WARRANTIES

3.1 DCN-16U is manufactured in accordance with the acting technical documentation ARMT.665200.001 and is qualified for operation.

The Manufacturer guarantees the high performance of DCN-16U equipment provided that operation conditions shall be followed up as shown in Table 1, within the following terms:

3.1.1 The warranty period for DCN-16U is 12 months from the date of delivery, if no alternative is furnished under the contract.

3.1.2 The product warranty period shall be prolonged for the period of the product being at LLC Armtel for performing diagnostics, repair and replacement of the whole product or its complete parts.

3.1.3 The warranty is effective for the product (complete part) handed over by LLC Armtel in exchange for the one taken to the service, if no alternative is furnished under the contract.

3.2 The warranty will not cover:

3.2.1 The warranty for the product and its complete parts will not be valid in the following cases:

− the Product serial number is changed, removed, damaged or illegible;

− the Manufacture seals are broken;

− The product has the traces of unauthorized repair;

− the product defects arose due to negligent usage or breaking the conditions of transportation, storage and mount set for in the technical documentation

− the product defects, including the damages produced by the reasons, not depending on LLC Armtel, such as voltage drops in supply network, acts of nature or acts of God, fire, etc.;

− the product defects are caused by the use of the software, accessories, consumable materials or other details, not approved by LLC Armtel;

− the product defects are caused by breaking the requirements to the product connection with other equipment stated in the technical documentation;

− the product defects are caused by the defects of the system or its elements, where the given product was used;

− the product defects are caused by the use of the operating parameters different from those formulated in the technical documentation attached to the product;



− the product defects are caused by introducing design changes without approval of LLC Armtel, as well as by the installation of the complete parts, not provided for in the technical documentation and user manual.

3.2.2 Cosmetic defects described upon the acceptance procedure are not the reason for refusal in the warranty service. After repair the equipment shall be returned with the same appearance.

3.2.3 The warranty will not cover the faults detected by the Buyer, which were claimed after expiration of the warranty period, or any other period established by legislation for detection the product defects.

3.2.4 The works related to the product mounting/dismantling, checkout, adjustment or routine maintenance are not included into the warranty obligations of LLC Armtel.

3.2.5 The warranty will not cover the product installation and setup. The organization, which performed these works is liable for the warranty obligations related to the quality of the product installation and setup.

3.2.6 The trips of Armtel officers to the Buyer’s place of the product location and the product transportation are not included into the warranty obligations of LLC Armtel and are to be paid by the Buyer independently, if no alternative is furnished under the contract.

3.3 The product operating life of DCN-16U under the observation of the above conditions is minimum 20 years.

3.4 The product will be exchangeable and returned to the Manufacture if defects of production nature have been discovered.

6 NOTES FOR PRODUCT OPERATION AND STORAGE

6.1 Operation of the product shall be in accordance with the RMLT.465311.015 User manual. When using the product, safety precautions laid out in “Occupational safety rules when operating electrical installations” should be complied with when working with electrical receivers with voltage of up to 1000 V.

Scheduled repairs of the product are not provided for. Unscheduled repair shall be performed by the manufacturer at the request of the user. The location, time, procedure and cost of the work shall be agreed on in advance.

6.2 Product storage conditions – in the manufacturer’s consumer package in unheated and ventilated warehouses or storage facilities with controlled air-conditioning with a temperature range up 5 to 40 °С.

Air in the product storage premises must be free of corrosive foreign matter (acid fumes, alkalis).

ATTENTION! IT IS CATEGORICALLY FORBIDDEN TO TRANSPORT DCN-16U EXCHANGE MOUNTED INTO A COMMUNICATION CABINET WITHOUT ADDITIONAL MOUNTING ELEMENTS, PROVIDING FIXING UPON

TRANSPORTATION! THIS MAY CAUSE PRODUCT DAMAGE AND BREAKDOWN.

At the same time, it is allowed for transportation within the communication cabinet of DCN-16U subscribers connection cable and DCN-Q4E E1 connection cable (for ARMT.665200.001-01 version), installed in the cabinet on a DIN-rack. In this case, it is necessary to take measures for fixing in the cabinet the connector DIN41612 of DCN-16U connection cable and the connector D-SUB-25A of DCN-Q4E E1 connection cable to prevent their free movement.

In case of transportation the DCN-16U connection cable and DCN-Q4E E1 connection cable within the communication cabinet, the DCN-16U exchange is placed into transportation boxing with the connection cables.

ATTENTION! WHEN CONNECTED TO PHANTOM POWER SUPPLY AND COMMUNICATIONS LINES THE NECESSARY STRICTLY FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE OPERATION DOCUMENTATIONS FOR THE DEVICE! NON-

COMPLIANCE WITH THESE REQUIREMENTS MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE EXCHANGE AND/OR SUBSCRIBER DEVICE!



7 WASTE RECOVERY

The product is not subjected to utilization combined with domestic waste and must be delivered to a special center for utilization of electronic products. The operating organization must take full responsibility for the product utilization.
