Life is Bigger Than Us

Grand Ballroom

Profession Photographer Ridwan Adhami has travelled arond

the world in the past few years working with Islamic Relief.

Join him as he discusses his journey, things he's seen, things

that effected him, and what it's like to live a life of a photgra-

pher and relief worker.

How to be a Changemaker

Marvin 307

If you think you can't be a superhero, think again. Changemak-

er Reem Rahman Kareem is here to share with you the se-

crets of the trade so you, too, can be changemaker. Put on

your capes and get ready to learn about how to be an agent of

change in your community, country, and the world.

Muslim Youth in America Today

Marvin 301

How do you balance being Muslim in modern America? Do

you have to pick one over the other? Why is this generation

forced to change? Come finally get these important questions

answered and discuss much more!

Mental Health

Continental Ballroom

Myths, stigma and stereotypes abound when it comes to

mental health and mental illness. The reality is, our mental

health is just as important as our physical and spiritual health.

Come to this workshop to gain some insight into ourselves,

learn coping skills and discuss ways in how we can all work to-

wards become the best version of ourselves.

Pop Culture & Islam

Grand Ballroom

How is it possible to balance staying in tune with all of today's

pop culture, engaging in it, while also remaining true to being

Muslim? It seems like we have to make a choice sometimes

between joining what's "cool" or joining the Muslim crowd.

How to be a Skyscraper

Marvin 301

Every human being has the capacity to reach incredible

heights, yet many of us lead lives of quiet desperation. Join

Qasim Kazmi in a discussion about how to reach your poten-

tial and be the best version of yourself possible -life is too short

for anything less.

Blessed are the Strangers

Marvin 311

“Islam began as something strange, and it will return to being

something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers."

Islam was meant to reform society - to establish a system of

justice in the midst of the chaos. So what does Islam have to

say about priviledge, racism, feminism, etc.?

Activity with UMR

Continental Ballroom

United Muslim Relief is an organization dedicated to bringing

relief and support to those in need. Join this service-oriented

workshop to meet those who work on the front lines of this or-

ganization, and find out how you can make a difference.

MISTalks (cont.)

Empowered Women

Marvin 307

“Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.” Join us for an all women's leader-ship workshop to celebrate, share and be inspired by Musim women who are leaders and changemakers. Who runs the World?

How to Find Your Art

Grand Ballroom

Join Professional Designer and Photographer, Ridwan Adhami, along with Youtube filmmaker, Ali Baluch, as they dis-cuss how they got to be where they are. Learn how they found their artistic voice, and how YOU can find your own artistic voice and live a creative life as a Muslim

Social Justice and Solidarity

Marvin 301

Throughout history, Muslims have been leaders in social jus-tice, but are we still doing our part in standing up for a just so-ciety? This talk is a must-listen for those interested in learning about aiding the oppressed, confronting rascism, fighting against sytemic injustice, and dealing with privilege.

How to Change the World

Continental Ballroom

Do you have what it takes to change the world? Your time may be limited, but the research has already been done for you. Join Reem Rahman Kareem and Adam Kareem as they show you the ropes of how to be a changemaker.

Real Talk

Marvin 301, 307

What are YOU thinking about, dreaming about, spending a lot of time on these days? Join your peers in this open discussion to meet others, share ideas, and see where we're all heading.

United Muslim Relief

Grand Ballroom

Join this service-oriented workshop to meet those who work on the front lines of this organization, and find out how you can make a difference.

The Race Against Time

Grand Ballroom

After playing Division 1 Basketball, Omari Grey has travelled a lot iof the world in search of knowledge and getting closer to Allah. In a world pressed for time and trying to become who we want and do what we want, how do we focus on accom-plishing more and staying true to ourselves and our deen?

The Race Against Time

Continental Ballroom

In our closing session, join Shaykh Abdul Rafaa as he explores the question of "what do we next after MIST?" How do we start this journey of becoming who we want to be, being suc-cessful, and also getting closer to Allah?
