    Concept : Adjective and its kinds

    Adjectives are words that are used for describing nouns or pronouns.

    ADJECTIVES OF QUALITY -The adjectives that describe the qualities or characteristics of a

    noun or a pronoun are called Adjectives of Quality. They answer the question- What kind? They

    describe: size, colour, shape, judgement, feelings, qualities, the nationality /origin. Examples –

    tall, blue etc

    ADJECTIVES OF QUANTITY - The adjectives that indicate the quantity of a noun are called

    Adjectives of Quantity. They answer the question–How much? For e.g. some, much, more, many,

    all, few, enough, each, several, etc. Example – little, some

    ADJECTIVES OF NUMBER - The adjectives of number tell us the number (cardinal) or position

    (ordinal) of persons, places, animals or things. They answer the question- How many? – Example –

    two, fifth

    DEMONSTRATIVE ADJECTIVES- A demonstrative adjective points out the person/ place/

    animal / thing that is being referred to or talked about. They answer the question- Which one? They

    are:- this, that, these and those.

    POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES - Possessive Adjectives are used to show possession. They

    indicate that something belongs to someone. For e.g. my, your, his, her, its, our, their, etc.

    INTERROGATIVE ADJECTIVES - The adjective that modifies a noun by asking a question is

    called an Interrogative Adjective. Example – who, what etc
