3.Take turns throwing the dice. The person with the highest number starts first.
4. Throw the dice and start from 1. Move the number of spaces on the dice.
If you land on the bottom of the ladder you can go up to the top of the ladder.
If you land on a snake’s head, you slide backwards to the end of his tail.

What you will need:
• 4 blocks that are the same size but are 4 different colours • 4 coloured pencils or textas or crayons that are the same colour as your
blocks
Steps:
1. First we are going to make a 3 block tower so you will need 3 different coloured blocks
2. Make a tower with your 3 blocks
3. Now colour in the tower you made on your recording sheet
4. Now try another combination for your block tower- try a different colour on the top.
5. Colour that combination in on the recording sheet.
6. See how many different combinations you can make- Don’t forget to record (colour) them. How many did you make? ____
7. Now try the same activity with 4 different coloured blocks
8. Record (colour in) your answers on the recording sheet.
9. How many combinations could you make? _____
10 Don’t forget to send your teacher a photo or video of your towers.
3 block towers
4 block towers
What you will need:
• Foot parade worksheet (in this booklet) • Scissors- cut out each animal box • Scrapbook or a piece of paper to record your sums.
Steps:
1. Look at each animal and decide how many legs each animal has.
2. The snail has 1 leg The ostrich has ______ legs The moose has ______ legs The lady bug has ____ legs The octopus has _____ legs
3. Now we are going to see how many combinations of animal’s feet we can
put together to make 12 4. Here is an example So you can see that:
4 legs and 4 legs and 2 legs and 2 legs makes 12 legs altogether. I am going to write it like this: 4 + 4 + 2 + 2= 12
5. Try some other combinations of animal legs that make 12. Don’t forget to write your addition sum as well. (in your scrap book)
6. Try another number eg. See if you can make 14 or 15 using the animal feet. If you are very clever see if you can make 20 feet!
7. Don’t forget to record your answers and send a photo to your teacher.
What you need:
• 2 dice (there will be some cardboard ones in your pack if you don’t have dice.
• Dominoes (if you have some) • Scrapbook
Steps:
1. Lets make some doubles using your fingers (remember doubling is adding the same number together) eg 1 and 1 is the same as double 1. They both make 2.
2. If you have dominoes at home, see if you can find all of the doubles. Don’t forget to count how many dots altogether
3. Now draw the matching dice dot patterns and write the answer. Let’s start with 1. Then draw all of the dice dot dice patterns to 6 Eg. + = 2
4. Game time: Find someone to play this game with you You will need to draw up a score sheet
5. Take turns to throw 2 dice. If you get a double give yourself a point. Don’t forget to say what the double is eg double 2 is 4 The first one to score 5 points is the winner!
**I hope you had fun learning about doubles! Take a photo or video of your work and send it to your teacher.
Mrs Bryce
Mr Bryce
What you need:
• 2 pages of 2 x ten frames • Dice • 40 counters or any small objects eg blocks, pasta
Steps:
This game is for 2 people so you will need to find someone to play with you
1. Each person needs a 2 x ten frame sheet (in this booklet) 2. Each person needs 20 counters or small objects 3. Throw the dice to see who gets the first turn (the highest
number wins!) 4. Take turns at throwing the dice and placing that many counters on your
tens frames. (Think of clever ways to do your counting and tell your game partner the total of counters you have each time) See video
5. The first person who reaches 20 is the winner!! 6. Play the game again and have fun!
What you need:
• 6 teddies or toys • 6 small plates or bowls • Around 30 small biscuits (eg. tiny teddies) or lollies or counters or blocks • A dice
Steps:
1. Throw the dice-check which number you have 2. Whatever number you have on your dice put that number of teddies/toys
in a circle for a picnic 3. Put a small plate in front of each teddy/toy.
(The plate represents the group) 4. Throw the dice again to see how many biscuits or lollies you need to give
each teddy. (This is how many) 5. Make sure you give each toy an equal amount (a fair share)
6. Work out how many biscuits or lollies there are altogether. Think of some clever ways to do your counting. Maybe you could put your biscuits in a dice pattern or count by 2s or 5s. You might even see some doubles! (The video will help you)
7. Write your results in your scrapbook Eg. 5 groups of 3 = 15
8. Try this activity a few times. Don’t forget to record your answers like this: _____ groups of _____ = ______
9. I hope you enjoy this activity!! Send a photo to your teacher
What you need:
• Pizza worksheet (in Maths booklet) • Scissors • Dice • Approximately 20-30 counters or small objects • Recording sheet (in maths booklet)
Steps:
1. Cut out each pizza 2. Throw the dice and put that many pizzas out. 3. Grab a handful of counters or small object
4. Share the objects equally onto each pizza- make sure there are fair shares. (Work out ways you can do this so that each pizza has the same)
5. Did you do this by putting one item at a time on each pizza? Or did you think of another way?
6. Did you have any left over when you made equal shares? What will you do with those? Talk to an adult about this.
7. Record your groups of algorithms on your recording sheet. 8. Eg. 4 groups of 3= 12. Remember groups of is how many pizzas. 9. Repeat this activity 5 times and record your answers. 10 Have fun and show your teacher your great work!
Watch the video to see how to answer the Maths
problem pages. There is an example of how to complete
this sheet.
You do not have to do all of them! I have put in some extra pages for those children who are looking for more work!
