IntroductionThe key to learning to play the guitar is the same as the key to learning anything. The more effort you put in the quicker you will see results. Your finger will hurt from time to time. :-( But stick with it and you WILL get there. The pain will go always, your finger will build up a tolerence.

I would use an analogy of learning to walk but I cant remember that so Ill use at other. When I started to learn to drive my brain had to really consentrate and my body did not always do what I brain wanted it to do. I may have pressure the brain a little harder that I needed to. But one day you realize that you are driving and you are not even struggling any more. The process has become automatic. This is what you want it to be like with the guitar. This may take month or even years but stick with it and you will improve. Not everyone become JIMI HENDRIX.

Barre Chords are movible sharps. For example if you move an F Barre chord shape up one fret it become an F# up one more fret and it becomes a G. the same is true for the B Barre Chord shape move then up a fret and the chord is raised to the note note up.

The pentatonic scale.Scales are the basis for lead guitar. there are many different scales, but the pentatonic is the easiest to learn and the coolest to play. The pentatonic scale is used in most forms of music. It is the most basic scale all beginner guitar players learn. The scale is used in blues, jazz, country, rock, punk, metal and even classical music.Learn one postion at a time. When you have Learnt all 5 shape, then learn to join them together and soon you will be shredding all over the neck, like Jimi hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kirk Hammet or Joe Strummer. :-) THIS IS THE A MINOR PENTATONIC SCALE

    e|------------------------------15-17-------------------------------| B|-------------------------15-17-------17-15------------------------| G|-------------------14-17-------------------17-14------------------| D|-------------14-17-------------------------------17-14------------| A|-------15-17-------------------------------------------17-15------| E|-15-17-------------------------------------------------------17-15|

It does not matter what fingers you use to play the scales. Just start slowly, it is better to play them slow but correct. That fast and wrong.

hints and tips You will get as much from the guitar as

you are willing put into it. Rome was not built in a day, nor was any

good guitar player. It will take time. Try to play with players that are better

that you. Do not become disheartened, use them.

There is a difference between Practice and Playing. When you are practicing, practice. When you want to play just play.
