DAVID ANDREW LEO FINCHER

David was born in Denver, Colorado; in August 25 of 1962, his mother has worked in a mental hospital helping drugs addicts during his childhood; his father a was a bureau chief in the Life magazine, when he was two years old his family moved to San Anselmo in Marin Country, California, David has moved to Ashland, Oregon when he was a teen ager, he got inspired by the movie ¨Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid¨, and start to make films with a 8mm camera, he has worked in three movies when he was starting in the films world, he then started to make commercials, he has done one for the American Cancer Society, this was the first time he direct something, then he directed the documentary ¨The Beat Of The Live Drum¨.

His trade mark is the he insert single frames in the movies, fluid tracking camera which can access to anywhere, frequently he put the characters in the shadows

where you can´t see the faces, his movies often end in suicides, he has worked with Brad Pit in three movies, the stories are filled with flashbacks, he makes references to the band 311 in two of his movies, stationary shots with unfocused back ground and the characters walk in to the focus, he like to take many shots of the scenes, Has been close friends with Brad Pitt ever since working together on ¨Se7en¨. He has directed music videos for Madonna, Sting, Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson and Aerosmith, etc.

At only 22 years of age! Fincher was offered to direct Rick Springfield's concert film "Beat of the Live Drum"
