RULES GOVERNING THE FESTIVAL OF MUSIC

8. Present students of the adjudicators may not enter classes he/she is adjudicating. (Unless those classes are non-competitive.)

9. Any person receiving more than $1,000 per annum for musical services is regarded as a professional for the purpose of the Festival and may not enter.

10. Competitors may enter once only in any class, but in ensemble classes, competitors may participate in more than 1 team.

11. Competitors may enter any number of classes for which they qualify.12. A piece may be entered in one class only.13. Competitors must enter at the grade level they are CURRENTLY studying.

ONE GRADE LEVEL ONLY MAY BE ENTERED.14. In all classes, an original copy of the music must be brought to the

Festival for the adjudicator on the day of the competition. No Photocopies.15. All vocal and instrumental selections must be memorized except Parent &

Child, duets, trios and adult classes. Do not play repeats.16. KEYS: All vocal classes may be performed in a key suitable to the voice

18. It is the responsibility of the entrant, or their teacher, to select the correct class! If not, no mark or placing will be given, only an adjudication. Acceptance of an entry does not ensure eligibility!

19. To be considered for scholarship, candidate must enter two or more classes. (Vocal and Strings excepted)

20. Teachers are responsible for informing new students and their parents of the festival rules.
