2017 Highlights – Organizational Stability and Improvement
Continuation and improvement of website and constituent communication
Continuation of the Positive Coaching Alliance (moved to a web-based learning system)
Volunteer Service Award
Homerun Derby Day – HLL raised over $3,000 for the CocoaPacks organization
Hershey Girls Softball Association (HGSA) Agreement for two years
Equipment donation to Harrisburg Police Athletic League (PAL)
Continued success and increased margins in concession stand
Best facilities in the area with continued improvements
Full Board of Directors (17 members) heading into 2018 season
2017 Highlights – Play Ball
Spring Registration: 438 players (up from 397 players in 2016)
Legion improvements – Made playoffs
Suburban champions – Great coaching model with Steve Roberts and Bruce Hancock
Milton Hershey School Teams added this year o Great interactions at Colts, Minors, and Majors levels o Inclusion in All-Stars teams o Gave HLL access to additional fields
Opening Weekend success
Modified playoffs for Minors and Majors divisions
Summer Slam o Expanded to 23 teams over three age levels o Outsourced logistical elements
All-Star/12-15 level successes
2017 Financial Highlights
Break-even o No changes to fees o Improvement in concession income o Investment in player development
Unspent field improvement money represents opportunities for the future
Utilization of the Hardship Waiver Program

Bank Balances and Profit Statement:
A thorough review of FY2017 finances, including adequacy and appropriateness of the cash
reserves, was conducted to ensure continued compliance from a 501c3/not-for-profit perspective 2018 Opportunities
Recruitment and retention of Tee Ball and Colts players
Additional coach development at all levels
Development of 13U through Legion levels
Commitment to Legion team
Changes to Summer Slam
Continuation of Home Run Derby
Implementation of Development Path for 12U players
