The historic landmark for modern painting is reached with the shift from objective view to subjective one.

Photography is since then in charge to represent the true image of a person or of a place.

The painter is free to represent it as he sees it without borders other than his imagination and creativity.

We are reaching an historic landmark in data visualization too. A moment defined, first of all, by the quantitative side of data and then by their qualitative side.
