Data Entry for the Market Survey of NEW ITEM

1. Data Entry for the Market Survey will be done on the web portal – www.urbanprices.gov.in. only. Please don’t use any offline software for the Market Survey – 2014.

2. Use your User Name and Password to open the portal. Please note that it is the same user name and password being used for entering/uploading the CPI data on monthly basis. As such, no separate user name and password have been generated for the Market survey. After entering the correct user name and password following screen will come:-

3. Separate links have been provided on the Home Page of the portal for the Data Entry of the New item for the Market survey except House Rent and PDS items. Data Entry for House Rent and PDS will be explained in the later section of this document. The link is indicated in the following screen shot. Data Entry can be done using any of these links :-

4. First, the details of market/shop (Form-2) will be entered. Click the link “New Markets/Shop per Town + Quote (Form 2)”. Following screen will appear :-

5. After entering the required field, namely Town, Quote and Category, click “Lookup” button. Following screen will appear :-

6. In the above screen, name of the local market, name and address of the original shop/outlet, first and second reserve are to be entered against each item. Click “Edit” button, as indicated above. Then following screen will appear :-

7. Entry is to be done in the respective text box appearing below the column heading, as indicated in the screen below :-

8. After entering the data in the text box, click “Update” button appearing at the end of each row. This will save the data for that item. This way entry against each item will be made.

This completes the data entry for Form-2.

9. Next, data entry for the Form-3A (Item Specification) will be done. Click the link “New Town +

Quote-wise Item Specification (Form 3A” available under Market Survey 2014. Following screen will appear :-

10. After entering the required field, namely Town, Quote, Category, click “Lookup”. Following screen will appear:-

Repeat the step as mentioned in Para -7 & 8. This completes the data entry for Form – 3A.

11. Next, prices of the new item will be entered in the Form-3B. As explained during the training workshop, prices of the new items are required to be collected for the calendar year, 2014, i.e. January’14 to December’2014. Accordingly, the blank form [3(A+B)] for the August’14 has the provision of recording the prices for the month Jan’14 to Aug’14. However, the data entry on the portal will be done month-wise, i.e one month at a time. For the data entry, click the link “New Open Market Prices (Form-3B)” available under Market Survey – 2014. Following screen will appear :-

12. Enter the required field, namely Town, Quote, Category, Month, Year, and Report Type. For “Report Type” there are three option – entered values, not entered values, entered with Zero/space. If you are entering the prices of item for the first time, select the option “Not entered values”. If you want to modify/revise the prices of the items already entered, select “entered vales”. Then click – “Lookup”. Following screen will appear :-

13. Click “Edit” button available in the last column of the each row (item). Following screen will appear :-

14. Enter the value of unit, quantity, price, special code, shop code, remarks in the text box appearing against each item. Then press “Update” button in the last column.

Repeat the step in Para-13 and 14 for each item. This completes the data entry for Form-3B.

15. House Rent

House Rent data will be entered through the link/menu “House Rent” available on the Home Page of web portal, as indicated below :-

No. of dwelling units have been doubled compared to the existing CPI series (base2010). For example, if there are 4 dwelling units in a town in the existing series, we have to identify additional 4 dwelling units of comparable amenities through the market survey, so that there will be a total of 8 dwelling units for this town in the new series(base 2012) frame .

(i) First, generate the blank House Rent form/schedule from the portal. Click “House Rent Blank Print” option under the House Rent menu. Following screen appears:-

(ii) Enter State, Town, Month and Year and press the button “Fill Dwelling Unit”. Then the Dwelling Unit field (which is the serial number of the dwelling unit) will be populated. Please note that half of the serial numbers are of the existing dwelling unit where as other half are of additional dwelling unit for which market survey is to be conducted. Care must be taken in selecting the serial number of dwelling unit for the existing dwelling and additional dwelling for the market survey. After selecting the dwelling unit serial number, enter the filed Block-“All” and press the “Lookup” button. Following screen will appear:-

Then press the “Print” button to take out the print of the House Rent Schedule. This may be used for filling-up in the field.

(iii) For data entry of the House Rent Schedule, select the option “House Rent Quote” from the

menu House Rent. Following screen will appear:-

(iv) Enter the required filed, namely state, Town, Month and Year, dwelling unit, block. Then press “Lookup” button. Following screen will appear :-

After filling up the details, press the “Submit” button appearing at the end of the form. This completes the data entry of the House Rent Schedule.

16. PDS Prices PDS prices will be entered through the link/menu “PDS Prices” available on the Home Page of web portal, as indicated below :-

(i) For generating blank schedule for PDS prices, select “Print PDS Monthly Prices Form

3.04 (PDS)” option from the menu “PDS Prices”, indicated above.

(ii) For data entry, select “PDS Monthly Prices Form 3.04 (PDS)” option from the menu “PDS Prices”. Following screen will appear:-

Enter the PDS Prices of items for APL, BPL, AAY, wherever applicable.

FAQ (i) Can the Market Survey Data be entered through offline software?

- NO, you have to enter on the web portal only.

(ii) Can the House Rent and PDS data are entered through offline software?

- No, the entire data (existing and additional dwelling unit) should be entered through the web portal only. Offline software should not be used for this purpose.
