Endeavour OverviewIn an effort to reduce project commissioning timeline, and turn over more complete, and accurate information to the site engineering teams, some clients seek to develop maintenance packages during the project and turn over with system completion. This can be difficult due to the incomplete and often inaccurate information the project team has available. The effort to collect and manage project deliverables is known as Project Information Management (PIM).

AVEVA NET has provided the robust framework required to manage large blocks of data for PIM. It provided the Jacobs Project Information Management team with the agility and flexibility required in an ever fluid project environment.

Track Record of Success

We have strong client references, ongoing/repeat/program stories as well as client

approved savings to the tune of $1.7M on a $450M TIC project and $2.5M savings on

a $600M TIC project. These savings came in the form of labor cost avoidance

(automation), schedule acceleration and right first time (reduced rework) performance.

CIO magazine is a trade magazine for chief information officers and other IT leaders.

For the CIO 100 Award, companies had to demonstrate not

only that they were able to create new value using IT and to

execute their project well, but also that they did so in

uncommon, innovative ways: pioneering a new technology,

applying a familiar technology to a new purpose, setting the bar

higher for their competitors. The selection emphasized projects

that, due to their scope and impact, are helping propel

companies to a more profitable future. In short, these

organizations are technology leaders.

• Locates, integrates and delivers quality-checked

engineering data via a secure Web-based viewing

portal

• Provides globally distributed engineering project

teams with one-stop access to the latest data,

reducing search time and increasing access to time-

sensitive information

• Going forward two applications will be key parts

of this strategy.

AVEVA Engineering to drive a data-centric collaboration

between disciplines which will enable greater work

efficiencies

Endeavour (AVEVA Net) will provide data alignment

across the full project spectrum of E-P-C delivery

Path Forward with AVEVA Engineering

• AVEVA Engineering is expected to become the P&C global

engineering database.

AVEVA Engineering is expected to replace Jacobs-developed legacy systems. EDB

as the engineering database in Europe with current usage over 750 users in more

than 15 offices. PDM for piping line management across offices in the America and

India.

• The deliverables to be produced include Basic Engineering Design

Data (BEDD), Datasheets, Equipment list, Speciality Items List, Line

List, Tie-In List, Instrument List, and Electrical Equipment List.

18

Page 19: Data-Centric Approach for Project Delivery

Plans/Ideas for future use of AVEVA Engineering

• Master Tag Register

• Mechanical Equipment Views

• Publish datasheets and lists for business process management

• Sub List for Heat Tracing

• Application Program Interface (API) to enable integration with other

systems and with calculation utilities

• Management of uses cases from process simulation software

• Material Selection Worksheets
