Course Overview

DfMA adoption is identified as one of the key strategies in

Construction ITM. Since then, the industry has reciprocated

strongly to the adoption drive by starting their DfMA journey

with pilot projects. However, the concept of DfMA is not

widely known and the underlying principle of DfMA is often

misunderstood. For better appreciation of DfMA, it is

important to step back and have a clearer overview. Deeper

understanding of design needs versus the merits of different

building solutions such as Precast, PBU and PPVC is

necessary to realize the benefits it potentially brings to the

project and the value chain. In addition to the technicalities of

applying building solutions, emphasis should also be drawn

to the construction and management of projects with high

prefabrication content. Issues such as product storage and

logistic impact can potentially derail a well- designed building

solution.
