In addition to being a successful model, this beautys got brains too, studying her final year of a Communications degree at Charles Darwin University. Cassie balances all this, on top of motherhood, raising daughters Akaila, 6, and Scarlett, 2.

People often ask how I manage work, study and family, says Cassie. I owe my success to my family. Especially my mum, she is amazing. Without their love and support, I couldnt manage as much as I do.

Cassie proves that with determination and strong family values, women can achieve success and balance.

I try to maintain a good routine, and I do my best to ensure I spend as much time as possible with my girls, when Im not working.

Shes not always perfect; I find it extremely hard to keep the house clean. But thats ok; well forgive her for it. My mum always says its not the end of the world.Cassie began modelling four years ago when she was crowned RALPH Australian Swimwear Model of the Year 2010, in her first ever modelling competition. Cassie went on to model interstate for calendars and magazines such as RALPH and ZOO Weekly. She also won Who looks best in their little black dress 2011 and Miss Monsoons 2012, then decided she wanted to focus on her career rather than modelling competitions. Cassie has worked locally, modelling for publications including Resident and Darwin Life Magazine, as well as appearing on the catwalk and in several print and television advertisements.

I resigned from my job as a flight attendant in 2010 and have worked within the fashion, marketing and media industries since, says Cassie. I have even worked behind the scenes on Darwin Life Magazine and NT Life Hotel Book.

Passionate for the outdoors, the glamour of a four-year modelling career hasnt spoiled this born and bred territory girl.

I grew up rurally at Humpty Doo, and absolutely love the farm life. My favourite thing about being raised in the bush was the lifestyle. I love animals, riding horses, quad bike riding, fishing and hunting.

Ambitious and gorgeous, Cassie is driven in the pursuit of a career in the media industry. I have recently started television presenting alongside Rick Knight, the Darwin Gig Guide is a guide to whats on at local venues such as: The Deck Bar, Shenanigans, Discovery Darwin, The Precinct and The Pickled Parrot Bar and Lounge. Viewers will catch us on channel 9, GO and GEM, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night. Cassie is proud to be appointed Ambassador of the Darwin Turf Club. Fulfilling the role of 2014 Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Carnival Ambassador is the perfect opportunity for me to build a profile for myself, whilst promoting one the territories largest social and sporting events. This is the perfect platform for me to get my name and face recognised, she said. As a born and bred Territorian I have grown up with horses. My family has always been involved with the racing industry and my Pop has part ownership in several racehorses, so its an extremely exciting opportunity for my entire family.We can expect much more to come from this notable young woman.

You can never be sure what the future holds, but I think people will see a lot more of me from now on.

I have recently started television presenting alongside Rick Knight, the Darwin Gig Guide is a guide to whats on at local venues such as: The Deck Bar, Shenanigans, Discovery Darwin, The Precinct and The Pickled Parrot Bar and Lounge. Fulfilling the role of 2014 Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Carnival Ambassador is the perfect opportunity for me to build a profile for myself, whilst promoting one the territories largest social and sporting events. This is the perfect platform for me to get my name and face recognised, she said. As a born and bred Territorian I have grown up with horses. My family has always been involved with the racing industry and my Pop has part ownership in several racehorses, so its an extremely exciting opportunity for my entire family.We can expect much more to come from this notable young woman.

Alana Brown looks just like any other typical 20-year old but you wont see her donning a fascinator or frock during the 2014 Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Carnival, she prefers dressing up in jockey silks.

Its lucky really, because between working full time as an insurance broker assistant, studying, early morning rides, stable work and racing weekends she would never find the time to shop!The 6th-generation Darwin-born youngster will instead be at the centre of attention on the track, skilfully steering a muscle-bound racehorse beneath her slight frame across the iconic Darwin Turf Club dirt track.The promising apprentice recently claimed her biggest win to date when she rode her Grandfathers horse Cheville to victory with a skilful surge to the finish line in the $20,000 QBE Cup on Saturday 14th June.Its a feeling I cant really describe, it was a very emotional win and I havent had a smile on my face like that in a very long time. Its a rush of adrenalin, pride and just general happiness all in one, said Alana of the victory.But shes the first to admit its a tough industry, having suffered countless injuries along the ride. On back-to-back Saturdays during last years Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Carnival her horses flipped in or near the barriers - the second landing directly on top of her. I stupidly didnt go to hospital straight away and waited a couple of days. It turned out I had sprained my ankle, fractured my nose, torn some muscles in my lower back, crushed a vertebrae and suffered a slight slipped disc.I had to re-strengthen my back, just trying to lift something was difficult, it was very frustrating but I had a lot of support. It took almost five months to fully recover, with plenty of physiotherapy.There is no hesitation when asked where her inspiration comes from - her father -former jockey and now trainer Stephen Brown. Hes very, very knowledgeable both with riding and training. Hes always supported me, given me pointers and let me keep racing even though I probably rode a few terribly, said Alana of her number one role model.I may not be as physically strong a rider as he was, but hes always said its not about how hard you can hit them, its about keeping them balanced and thinking well throughout the race. Now firmly back in the saddle and in great form coming into the 2014 Carlton Mid Darwin Cup Carnival she says she would be ecstatic if she could manage to claim victory in a feature race.I have always ridden horses, I cant say there was one real deciding factor that made me want to do it, Ive always wanted to. It is hard work and is definitely something that you have to love, she said.

When clients open the door to Kerrys Massage they know one thing for certain, they will be treated by one of the best, an expert. Pei Zhao (Kerry) is approaching her second decade in remedial massage and gained every ounce of knowledge and skill in her craft from one of the most revered men in China. Sun Mao Cais skills remain at the highest echelon of traditional Chinese medicine. His gifted student, Kerry, trained with the highly respected physiotherapist for many years, became a qualified remedial massage therapist and acupuncturist through the Qingdao College of Chinese Medicine and 15 years later created Kerrys Massage; four well patronised, massage centres from Humpty Doo to Millner. Eradicating peoples pain is what fuels Kerrys thriving business and she accomplishes this on an hourly basis with the help of 15 staff every single day, except December 25. Remedial massage is her speciality and she thoroughly understands the human body intricately and has mastered the acute ability to access the bodys pressure points. The most common complaints and frustrations that Kerry hears from a number of her clients is the dreaded back, shoulder and neck pain; a condition many of us suffer but tend to ignore, endure and accept as a normal part of our lives. Others of us have tried and tested remedies that have hit the hip pocket hard or have been costly, mentally. When there is pain there is not only physical discomfort, the emotional wear and tear can

A woman in her late 40s who worked as a receptionist and sat at a computer all day had three car accidents here in Darwin, shares Kerry. Now she visits the centre once every two weeks and is much better and often says she feels like a new woman because her pain is significantly less. One of the most heart breaking stories Kerry has even encountered was of a 55-year old man who came to see her almost in tears and with the fear of being crippled. He was at work one day and lifted some heavy timber and pinched a nerve and was incapacitated for three days, remembers Kerry. He was so worried he was going to become physically handicapped and was, naturally, extremely distressed. I made a special Chinese medicine paste and applied it to his back and after a few days he was walking around just as he did before the incident and as you can imagine was overwhelmingly relieved. Even helping youngsters (aged 10 and older) with sports injuries has allowed Kerry to share her expertise further. One girl who is about 15 and plays soccer regularly comes to our centre every two weeks with her sore and tight legs and at the end of every appointment she turns to me and thanks

me for my magic hands, says Kerry, who is constantly furthering her own skills and training every couple of months at the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. Its very rewarding to help children too and teach them about looking after their bodies, she adds. Kerrys advice is given generously to all her clients, no matter what age or ailment. I share with people how they can relieve their pain themselves with special exercises and some I also give Chinese herbal creams and oils to assist their recovery and rehabilitation, adds the woman who is booked out almost every hour across Darwin.
