CHOREOGRAPHERS LOA B. CLAWSON was a charter member of Repertory Dance Theatre, the Rockefeller funded company at the University of Utah and Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Salt Lake City, and a member of University Ballet Theater (Ballet West) under William Christiansen. She choreographed for Ririe-Wood­bury Company, the University of Utah and the 1986 University Bi-Centennial of the Constitution ARTS IN A FREE SOCIETY. A David Gardner Fellowship enabled her to teach and choreograph abroad. In 1987, she choreographed and taught on the SOUTHWEST GAS FOR DISTINGUISHED ARTISTS SERIES for the state of Nevada at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas . Ms. Clawson is founder and artistic director of Performing Danscompany, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American College Dance Festival Association.

CLIFF KEUTER has studied and performed with Martha Graham, Anna Sokolow, Daniel Nagrin and Helen Tamiris. He toured extensively with the Paul Taylor Dance Company . In 1969 he founded the Cliff Keuter Dance Company which performed nationally and internationally for ten years. In 1981, he founded and became artistic director of the New Dance Company of San Jose. His original ballets can be found in the repertories of Ballet Rambert, Bat-Dor Dance Company, Israel and the Netherlands Dance Theatre, Ballet Du Rhin and the Australian Dance Theatre.

JANIE SCOTT began her career as a performer during her graduate study at SJSU. She was a member of the National and International companies of A CHORUS LINE, and was last seen in CATS. She has worked with choreog­raphers Michael Bennett, Ron Field, Larry Fuller and Trevor Nunn. She is a member of the dance faculty at SJSU, and Co-Director of the Backstage Studio for the Performing Arts here in San Jose.

MICHAEL SMUIN directed and choreographed SOPHISTICATED LADIES, which received the Outer Critics Circle Award and two Tony nominations. He is the principal dancer and resident choreographer with the American Ballet Theatre and the San Francisco Ballet, twelve years as Director of the San Francisco Ballet. He has choreographed 29 ballets for the San Francisco Ballet, and produced over 110. Mr. Smuin has staged dance for Leslie Caron, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Rudolf Nureyev. He is a member and co-chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts Dance Advisory Panel. He received his Doctorate in Fine Arts in 1984 from the University of Montana.

GUEST DANCERS DAVID MILLER holds a B.A. in Mathematics from San Jose State University, where he also completed a minor in Dance. The recipient of two dance scholar­ships, he won San Jose State's award for best male dancer in 1984 and 1985. Mr. Miller is a principal dancer w ith the NEW DANCE COMPANY of San Jose.

KARL SCHAFFER lives in Santa Cruz, recently co-choreographed a danced version of Shakespeare's HAMLET, which was featured on National Pu blic Radio's MORNING EDITION, and is planning a concert in May with Cliff Keuter. His solo, "Fad," is being toured nationally by Gregg Lizenberry. Mr. Schaffer's occupa tion is teaching mathematics.
