Re; PUBLI C RECORDS / PENSION LOSSES & ADMONITIONS

    Dear Atty. Rosemark,

This is a formal request for prompt production of documents in accordance with the state Freedom of Information

    Act.

I request copies of any and all records related to pension fund losses including at least $400,000 via investments

managed by firms connected with the jailed swindler Bernard Madoff.

These records include but are not limited to financial charts, any and all warnings from actuaries regarding

investments and / or failures by the city to maintain its contributions to pensions in the normal and customary

manner; also, meeting minutes, memorandums, phone logs and e-mails regarding the handling of funds, as well as

recovery efforts cited by finance officials and the mayor.

To amplify, this request covers any and all public records about this matter in the possession or control of city

officials including the mayor, regardless of where they are stored, whether in city offices and office computers,

homes or home computers, other offices, etc.

It is a Class A Misdemeanor CGS Sec. 1-240 to destroy a public record. Destruction of a public record is

punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine

Failu re to comply promptly with th is request wil l r esult in a formal complaint, requests for subpoenas of

    witnesses and a r equest f or a $1,000 fine.

By prompt, I mean immediately, unless you can demonstrate to the FOI Commission that this would interfere with

the normal course of business. This information regarding significant expenditures of taxpayer money and

questionable activities of public officials is vital to the public interest. Accordingly, I request a waiver of any and

all fees. You may fax or mail the data to the contact information listed above.

    Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,

    Andy Thibault
