FAREWELL TO THE CREW OF STARBASE IPL-7
Project: Interplanetary Unity ends its webcomic series run, as the final page of the final
issue of the four-issue series has been uploaded, and is available for your reading pleasure
via dandelbycomics.com.
DDC Magazine caught up with the man behind Project: Interplanetary Unity, himself,
Dan Delby, for his thoughts on the end of his Project: Interplanetary Unity webcomic
series.
“I am really proud of all the fan attention that Project: Interplanetary Unity has garnered,”
said Delby. “Whether it be its massive online following, or its great fan reaction from
people I have met in person at conventions and such, Project: Interplanetary Unity has
definitely meant a lot to fans, and that means a lot to me. Project: Interplanetary Unity
started out as a one-shot comic book, my first-ever comic book release as a matter of fact.
That initial one-shot comic book has since spawned seven short stories to date, as well as
the four-issue webcomic series that just ended online. I am proud to have brought Project:
Interplanetary Unity to the masses, whether it be through the one-shot comic book, the
four-issue comic book series, or the seven short stories. Speaking of the webcomic series,
I hope that fans are pleased with how I ended it. I felt that bringing back several
characters from the one-shot comic book and its six prequel short stories, as well as
introducing new characters during the course of the webcomic series, provided a great
cast of characters for readers to enjoy. As far as the end of the webcomic series also being
the end of the Project: Interplanetary Unity franchise, never say never. After all, I already
released a seventh Project: Interplanetary Unity short story as part of my Amazingly
4
Astonishing Journeys short story collection. So, again, never, say never! Special thanks to
all fans who have supported Project: Interplanetary Unity!”
Speaking of the success of the Project: Interplanetary Unity webcomic series, from the
time it began in February 2012, to the time it ended in November 2012, Project:
Interplanetary Unity garnered over 1,500 unique readers, as well as over 5,500 individual
page views. As Dan Delby said, special thanks to all those who have supported Project:
Interplanetary Unity!
