    DAILY LESSON PLAN

    1. PREPARATION

    Candidate teacher : Mustafa TRKERSchool : Mersin University, 3rd class

    Lesson : English

    Course : Teaching Language Skills

    Topic : Kitty Redcape - A text

    Subject : Personal growth, Teaching reading and writing

    Skill : Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening

    Level : A2

    Grade : 7th grade in a state school

    Age : 12-13

    Duration : 20

    Approaches&Methods : Eclecticisim

    Techniques : Rewrite, Question and answer, Guessing,

    Materials : A short text, handouts, board, board marker

    Teacher Roles : Organizer, Observer, Feedback organiser, Prompter

    Motivator, Resource, Feedback provider

    Learner Roles : Active participant, Negotiator

    Overall Objectives

    to be able to read and understand the passage,

    to be able to rewrite the paragraphs,

    to be able to write questions about the text,

    to be able to answer these questions about the text,

    Behavioral Objectives

    At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

    rewrite the paragraphs in the text,

    write five questions about the text,

    answer these questions,

    guess the title of the text,

    2. PRESENTATION

    a. Motivation: The teacher greets the students saying, Good afternoon class! Then he asks

    them How are you, today? They reply, Fine, thanks and you? The teacher says, I am fine.

    Then he goes on, I think you are ready for the lesson. But before we start the lesson, lets do a

    warm up activity.

    b. Warm-up: As a warm-up activity the teacher tells the students to play a game. Its name is

    alphabetical order game. In this game, words are arranged by the letters.

    c. Stating the instructional objectives: After performing the warm-up activity, the teacher

    informs the students about what the next step will be by explaining the overview of the lesson.

    d. Presenting the instructional objectives: The teacher tells the students to read a short text and

    then he wants the students to do some activities about the reading passage. The teacher wants thestudents to read the passage silently in three minutes. And then he wants them to do the activity

    A. After this activity, the teacher wants the students to read the passage one more time and then

    he wants a student to read the passage loudly.

    3. PRACTICE

    In this part, the teacher wants the students to write five questions about the passage and

    he divides the class into groups. Then he wants them to answer the questions and also he tells the

    students to share the questions with the other groups. Meanwhile, the teacher gives the students

    six minutes for this activity. Furthermore, the other activity is guessing the best title for the text.The teacher wants the students to study this part individually.

    4. PRODUCTION

    At this stage, the teacher wants the students to write their own texts by using the

    sentences in the last activity.

    5. SUMMARY

    In a few words the teacher summarizes the lesson by saying Today we have read a short

    passage and have made some activities about the text. If there isnt any problem, thats all for

    today.
