Student Activities & Clubs!

Attention Students November 1st was the start of the 300 hall's canned food drive for No-Shave November! Please drop off any canned goods or prepackaged food items off at either Mr. Cooper's room (317) or Coach Kelley's room (314) to support them in seeing just how shaggy their beards can get by the end of the month! Get involved today!!!

Mock Elections

Last week, GHS held a mock presidential election as part of a national mock election. These are the results: With approximately 1,800,000 votes cast by 600,000 students in every state in America, here are the national

results:Barack Obama, Democratic Party - 61.05%

Mitt Romney, Republican Party - 35.38%

Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party - 2.07%

Jill Stein, Green Party - 1.04%

Virgil Goode, Constitution Party - .34%

Other - .12%

Gilbert High School Results: Romney – 73.6%; Obama – 19.16; Gary Johnson – 4.79; Write In – 2.4%; Jill Stein – 0%

Attention HOSA Members

If you are planning to attend State Leadership in Charleston in March 2013, please stop by one of your advisors' rooms to pick up a blue information packet, which includes a commitment form.  The first payment is due November 14th.  If you need help choosing your competitive event, please talk with one of the advisors.

Key Club

KEY CLUB will meet Wednesday morning at7:45 in Mr. Poynor’s room (234). Be prepared to bring cookies for the winning class. Be prepared to bring dues money. Be prepared to plan for the upcoming service projects. And check your email so that the officers can get information to you!

Student Athletics

GHS Boys’ TennisOur Varsity Tennis team is currently recruiting for their spring season! Our team has consistently won their region in 2-A and is looking forward to dominating in region five, 3-A this year as well! If you are interested in being a part of this winning team, see Coach Allman in room 125. Training for the spring season begins soon, so don’t wait to sign up!

Lady Indian Soccer Conditioning

Attention girls soccer prospects: conditioning for the 2012-2013 season will begin today Monday, November 5th. Please complete any paperwork for physicals soon and do not wait until the last minute! Please see Coach Kelley or Coach Bui if you have any questions.

Attention Boys Soccer Prospects!

If you are interested in playing boys soccer this spring. Fall practice begins today Monday, November 5 at 3:45 and will meet at Gilbert Middle School through Tuesday, November 20. Fall practice is for any boy who is not currently involved in a fall sport for GHS and/or not involved in a winter sport for GHS on November 1.
