Autonomy

Sensors and external data sources enable the comprehensive monitoring of: •  The product’s condition •  The external environment •  The product’s operation and

usage •  Monitoring also enables alerts

and notifications of changes

1 Software embedded in the product or in the product cloud enables: •  Control of product

functions •  Personalization of the user

experience

2 Monitoring and control capabilities enable algorithms that optimize product operation and use in order to: •  Enhance product

performance •  Allow predictive diagnostics,

service, and repair

3 4 Combining monitoring, control, and optimization allows: •  Autonomous product

operation •  Self-coordination of operation

with other products and systems

•  Autonomous product enhancement and personalization

•  Self-diagnosis and service

The capabilities of smart, connected products can be grouped into four areas: monitoring, control, optimization and autonomy. Each builds on the preceding one: to have control capability, for example, a

product must have monitoring capability

Data Management

DATA RULES AGENTThe CyberVille Rule Engine allows you to easily customize the platform’s behavior to intelligently read, route and render different data types and data streams to ensure mission-critical processes and policy-based operations.

SEMANTIC DATA MODELThe cornerstone of CyberVille is an Extendable Data Model that supports semantic data models to represent and virtualize real-world things. CyberVille provides rich data rules, application-specific styles and on-the-fly data format conversion.

ALARM MANAGEMENTThe CyberVille industrial automation inspired alarm handling system provides custom alarm rules and handlers to drive notifications such as SMS or email. Each alarm is time stamped and logged, and users can even define alarms at runtime.

FULLY INSTRUMENTED KPIsCyberVille features an integral KPI service that collects and stores specific parameters to monitor system performance and support accounting procedures. KPI’s can be retrieved through specific web services or the Admin Console.

BIG DATA READYCyberVille has an industrial class data management system to automatically and fully tag every data stream and provide end-to-end security. It can integrate directly with Big Data infrastructure, analytics engines and applications.

DATA EXTENSIBILITYCyberVIlle is built using PostgreSQL and Redis to store unstructured and high-volume data streams. It provides a rich database abstraction layer that allows integration with other SQL and No-SQL storages.
