or design. When Im not designing or

talking, reading or writing about design,

Im thinking about it. Its what I love to do.

I have an equal passion or print and the

web. Im an aable chap with a good sense

o humour and I make a mean pot o tea.

My training as an architect has ostered

within me a constantly enquiring

critical ability to nd new, creative and

impassioned ways to solve old problems.

In short, the most vital actors in my

approach to design are well ordered and

structured content, great typography,

thoughtul use o colour, high usability,

unctionality and simplicity.

I have a very strong client-centered

approach. I believe in involving the client

as much as possible at all stages.

I like to provide my clients with constant

Initial consultation, marketing strategy, copy writing, Wordpress template design. Development and implementation o the Wordpress

site was completed by a third party.

Project Synopsis

Tis project involved working with an award-winning wedding cake supplier to completely redesign their website. Teir existing

static site was not proving to be usable or their sta. Te quick turnaround o their products meant that they required an easy to use

interace or sharing their work with customers. We decided early on that a Wordpress site would provide a usable interace yet allow

unlimited reedom in design. Initially through brainstorming, diagramming and sketching, and then later through wireraming, we

produced an inormation architecture strategy and a Wordpress template.

Te client owns a very well established

foristry business in the centre o Urmston

town centre. He approached me with the

desire to start selling his products online.

We assessed the various e-commerce

platorms available and decided upon

Magento. I have a good knowledge o

PHP and MVC design patterns so this

oered the best scope or fexibility and

customisation.

I took care o all aspects o this site,

and still assist in the maintenance and

updating.

Tis was a week-long university project. Te project involved

researching an architectural controversy and producing a website

or a presentation. I was the web developer and web designer or

the project.

Tis was a 1 day job. Te sedimentology research group needed

a very basic 4 page static site to replace an outdated one.

Te primary criterion was that sta should be able to update

inormation reasonably easy.

I achieved this with PHP by including all textual inormation

rom independent text les which can be updated by sta.

Architecture Poster MMU Poster Competition

Project Synopsis

A poster designed at university to represent an innovative way o

describing urban space. Adobe InDesign CS5 and Illustrator CS5

Project Synopsis

My entry to the MMU 10,000 trees competition which was run

by MMU and Creative Lynx. Te poster was intended to make

sta and students think twice beore using paper or printing. My

entry highlights the current unsustainable usage o paper within

Britain by use o an inograph created rom a trunk section.

Adobe InDesign CS5 and Illustrator CS5.

My entry was the runner-up and I received a prize o 50

Amazon.co.uk vouchers.

In the UK we now use 3 t imes more paper than we can sustainably produce.

During 2008/09 the amount of paper the University used was equivalent to

10,000 trees, 42.6 tons, or enough to fill Wembley Stadium many times over.
