Moti Lal Nehru' by Professor C.K.N. Raja, Retired Professor,

University of Mysore on November 27, 2012 at WBNUJS. This Special

Lecture was attended by Ms. Ghosal.

5) Ms. Ghosal attended the talk by Professor James Simeon on Application

and Interpretation of International Humanitarian Law and

International Criminal Law to International Refugee Law at January 9,

2013 at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences,

Kolkata.

6) Ms. Ghosal attended Prof. N. Subrahmanian Endowment Lecture 2013

delivered by Prof. Mahua Sarkar, Professor of History, Jadavpur

University, on August 26, 2013, at 3.30 pm, organized by the Institute of

Historical Studies, at the Institute, Kolkata. The Lecture was presided

by Eminent Historian and Former Vice Chancellor of Viswa Bharati

Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) on

January 5, 2006. The lecture was given by eminent US expert Scott

Erwin (Research Associate, Council on Foreign Relations, New York,

USA). This programme was organized jointly by WBNUJS and the

American Centre, Kolkata.

1) Ms. Ghosal participated in an interactive session with Sir James

Alexander Mirrlees, Winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences

and an Emeritus Professor of Political Economy, Cambridge, UK, held at

the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata on

Friday 11, 2013.

1) Ms. Ghosal presented a paper on “Analyzing Trends of Consumer

Protection in India: Past, Present and Future” organized by the

Department of Consumer Affairs and Fair Business Practices, Kolkata,

South Region, Government of West Bengal on January 9, 2009.

2) Ms. Ghosal participated in a two day UGC- sponsored National

Seminar on “Constructing and Deconstructing India: Political Thought

and Spirituality in the Ideas of Swami Vivekananda”, organized by the

Department of Political Science, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, in

3) Ms. Ghosal participated and presented a paper on ‘Swami

Vivekananda’s Views on Education of Indian Women’, in a UGC-

sponsored State-level Seminar to commemorate 150th Birth

Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda organized by Prafulla Chandra

College in collaboration with Institute of Historical Studies, Kolkata on

March 9, 2013, at Prafulla Chandra College Campus. This paper would

be published in an Edited Volume as seminar proceedings.

4) Ms. Ghosal participated and presented a paper entitled, ‘Swami

Vivekananda’s Views on Select Issues: Some Reflections” in a two-day

International Conference on “Swami Vivekananda and His Times:

Significance and Relevance”, organized by the Vidyasagar Centre For

Indological Studies, Rabindra Bharati University (RBU), Kolkata, in

collaboration with the Department of History, RBU, Kolkata, held on

March 25-26, 2013. This paper would be published in an Edited

Volume as seminar proceedings.

5) Ms. Ghosal participated and presented a paper entitled ‘Select Women

Characters in Ray’s Films: Adaptations from Bengali Literature’, in a

three-day International Conference on "Literature to Cinema:

Appropriation, Adaptation, Adulteration" during 1-3 June, 2013

organized by the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences,

collaboration with United Nations Conference on Trade and

Development (UNCTAD) on “WTO Dispute Settlement” from 16th to

18th of November, 2009 at WBNUJS. The workshop, entitled ‘An

Introduction to WTO Dispute Settlement’, was designed to orient

students of law about the working of the WTO dispute settlement

mechanisms. This is a part of the exercise which the Ministry of

Commerce and Industry, Government of India together with UNCTAD

have undertaken and is aimed at developing strategies and preparedness

for trade and globalization in India.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

Anupama is an enthusiastic person, organizing, hosting, managing and

participating in various cultural programmes, excursions, seminars and various

community development projects. She authored some interesting write-ups

some of which have been published. She is associated with some organizations

who are involved in social- cultural and charitable activities. Her extra-

curricular activities include participation in different branches of vocal music.

She has already rendered quite a number of CDs, Cassettes and records. She

has visited different parts of India, Bangladesh, USA and UK for her musical

performances.She is an active member of her father Dr. Anup Ghosal’s musical

troupe.

Anupama got the opportunity to record her first basic record from HMV,

along with her father and musical Guru, Dr. Anup Ghosal at a tender age of 8

yrs. Apart from this album ‘ABOL TABOL’ which was a huge hit, they have

also released a number of other albums subsequently, which have also touched

the heart of music lovers across the globe. She has travelled in different parts of

India, along with her father, to perform in various musical concerts. Anupama

has been trained in various classical, semi-classical and different branches of

• Ms. Ghosal was an invited artist to perform in ‘BANGLA SANGEET

MELA 2013’ organized by the Dept. of Information and Culture, Govt. of

West Bengal, on Tuesday 9/4/13 at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata.

• Ms. Ghosal was invited as a judge by MCG (Media and Cultural Group)

Don Bosco School, Park Circus, Kolkata to judge the ‘talent hunt’

organized by the school on May 16, 2013, in the school campus from 9 am

to 11.45 am.

• Ms. Ghosal was an invited artist to perform in the inaugural programme

of ‘Nazrul Janmojayanti’ organized by the Paschim Banga Kazi Nazrul

Islam Academy, under the aegis of the Dept. of Information and Culture,

Govt. of West Bengal, to commemorate the birthday of the famous

Bengali poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam on May 25, 2013, at Nazrul Mancha,

Kolkata. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata

Banerjee graced this occasion and inaugurated this programme on May

25, 2013 and this programme continued for next two days on May 26 and

May 27, 2013.
