NOTES-For best results, read through all instructions before starting.-Please wash, dry & iron your fabrics before beginning, and trim selvedges.-Unless otherwise indicated, sew all seams with a 1/4” seam allowance.-Press your seams open as you go. -WOF = width of fabric-when working with fabrics that have a directional print, pay attention to the orientation of the rpint when cutting.
CUTTING
Fabric A Cut (1) 15” x WOF strip. Sub-cut:
-(2) 15” x 9-1/2” rectangles-(2) 14-1/4” x 5-1/2” rectangles-(2) 12-1/2” x 3-1/2” rectangles
Cut (1) 16-1/2” x WOF strip. Sub-cut:
-(1) 16-1/2” x 5-1/2” rectangle-(1) 14-1/2“ x 2-1/2” rectangle-(2) 14-1/2” x 6-1/2” rectangles-(1) 13-1/2” x 2-1/2” rectangle-(1) 12-1/2“ x 5-1/2” rectangle-(1) 7-1/2” x 2-1/2” rectangle-(4) 2-1/4“ x 2-1/4” squares-(2) 4” x 4” squares
Fabric B Cut (5) 2-1/2” x WOF strips. Set aside for binding.
Cut (1) 14-1/2” x WOF strip. Sub-cut:
-(1) 14-1/2” x 3-1/2” rectangle-(1) 13-1/2” X 3-1/2” rectangle-(2) 12” x 7-1/2” rectangle

PIECING (NOTE : Refer to diagram on p.2 for fabric placement)
Making the Heart
1. Mark a diagonal line corner-to-corner on the Wrong Side of each of your Fabric A squares.
(4x) 2-1/4” x 2-1/4” squares (2X) 4” x 4” squares
2. Place (1) 2-1/4” x 2-1/4“ Fabric A square on the upper left hand corner of (1) Fabric C 4” x 7-1/2” rectangle, Right Sides Facing. Sew the (2) pieces together along the diagonal line marked on the Fabric A square.3. Trim the excess fabric 1/4” outside of the stitch line and press the seam open.
4. Repeat Steps 2-3 with a second Fabric A square, this time sewing it to the top right-hand corner of the Fabric C square.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 to sew a 4” x 4” Fabric A square to the lower left-hand corner to one of the pieces created in Step 4.
6. Trim the excess fabric 1/4” outside of the stitch line and press the seam open.
7. Repeat Step 5 to sew a 4” x 4” Fabric A square to the lower right-hand corner to the second piece created in Step 4.
8. Sew the two rectangles created in Steps 6 & 7 to gether to make the heart. Press seams open.

9. Sew the 7-1/2” x 2-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to the top of the heart piece.
10. Sew (1) 15” x 9-1/2” rectangle to either side of the heart piece.
11. Sew (1) 14-1/4”x 5-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to either side of the Fabric D rectangle.
12. Sew (1) 12-1/2” x 3-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to either side of the Fabric E rectangle.
13. Sew (1) 14-1/2” x 6-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to either side of the Fabric F rectangle.
14. Sew (1) 16-1/2” x 5-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to the right-hand side of the Fabric G rectan-gle and (1) 12-1/2” x 5-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to the left-hand side.
15. Sew (1) 13-1/2” x 2-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to the top of (1) 13-1/2” x 3-1/2” Fabric B rect-angle.
16. Sew (1) 14-1/2” x 2-1/2” Fabric A rectangle to the top of (1) 14-1/2” x 3-1/2” Fabric B rectangle.
17. Sew the piece created in Step 15 to the right-hand side of the Fabric H rectangle and the piece created in Step 16 to the left-hand side of the Fabric H rectangle.

18. Sew (1) 12” x 7-1/2” Fabric B rectangle to either side of the Fabric I rectangle
19. Sew all the rows created from Steps 10-18 together top to bottom to complete the quilt top.
20. Layer quilt top with batting and backing. Baste and quilt as desired.
FINISHING
21. Sew the Fabric B binding strips together end to end and press seams open. Bind the quilt using your favorite method.
