Weekly Reading and SpellingYour child will have a book to read each week.The recommended amount of reading is 10 minutesper day.Please listen to your child reading and make acomment in the reading diary
A new spelling pattern is given out on a Monday.Children are given a sheet to take home andpractice ready for a spelling test each Friday.
HomeworkHomework will be set everyFriday and is expected to becompleted by the followingWednesday. Children can chooseone homework from the list tocomplete each week.Homework will be linked tolearning carried out in class and isan excellent opportunity forparents to get involved in theirchild’s education.
Children will have a homeworkbook, but may also be required tocomplete tasks using Hwb.
PEPE will be on Monday and Thursday each week.PE Kit: White t shirts, black shorts andpumps/trainers. Jogging bottoms and jackets maybe required in colder weather.Tryfan will go swimming in the Spring term(January – March) every Thursday morning. Weask for £2.00 donation towards the bus andrequest no goggles.No jewellery and long hair tied up.Please label all items of clothing.
Water and SnackChildren are encouraged to drink waterthroughout the day. Please provide a labelledwater bottle.Children can choose to have a healthy school snackat a cost of £1.25 per week, which consists of awide range of fruit and vegetables.
If children choose to bring their own snack itmust be fruit or vegetables.
Medical/IllnessIf your child is absent from school then pleasecontact the school office by 9:30am. If we donot receive notification of absence then we willcall you to find out where your child is.School Dinners
Junior dinners are currently£2.35 or £11.75 per week (butare subject to change).Please pay dinner money on aMonday, placing money in anenvelope clearly labelled withyour child’s name and class.

Autumn Term 1 Misty Mountain Sierra – non-fiction, writing lyrics, claymodelling, weaving, Earth and Beyond, using maps, humanand physical geography.
Autumn Term 2 Sportswear Designer – websites, slogans and logos,adverts, interviews, sketching, printing and pavementgraffiti.
Spring Term 1 Eisteddfod – performance, research, writing andreciting poetry, crafts, mixed media artwork, singing,tents, festival food, interpreting maps.
Spring Term 2 Blue Abyss – poetry using personification, dilemmastories, biographies, persuasive letters, ballads,observational drawing, sculpture, seas and oceans.
Summer Term 1 Playlist – poetry, short stories, posters, music of the20th century, making instruments, location of countries.
Summer Term 2 Road Trip USA! – Myths and legends, emails, postcards,diary writing, Native American dream catchers,databases, world maps, human and physical geography.
