Prof. Dr. Sultan ÇOBANOĞLU

Working at the University of Ankara , has been studied on taxonomy on mites, especially tetranycidae and phytoseidae families. She has identified so

many new species for world fauna including tetranycid, phytoseiid, eriophyid etc. She has focused on interactions of between spider mites and phytoseiids

and their population dynamics in recent years. Her studies are emphasis on faunistic survey of mite on several cultivated and wild plant species. Mites are

very small organism. With the decline in support for systematic work in acarology, fewer qualified people are available to identified original descriptions

and systematic keys examining morphological characters of mites. Her specification is valuable capability.
