RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research interest center on Latino’s health and gaining a better understanding of the
sociocultural context of chronic disease and cancer, cross-cultural concepts of disease and illness
and finding the best ways to bring evidence-based interventions and support programs to
community-based settings and Latino populations who share a disproportionate burden of disease
morbidity. Methodologically, I specialize in ethnography and qualitative methods, mixed
methods and community based participatory research/community engaged research.
